Wassup yall
Just upgraded to a 2011 g37x coupe from a 2004 g35x sedan. Always been into cars but haven’t invested much time into tuning and doing mods. I’m looking to start working on the exterior mods while I save up to do solid internal work. My question is, are there any specific websites to find aftermarket parts or anything? I’m putting together a full list of modifications that I want to make, but the first thing I’m looking into is which would be the best exhaust system for best quality sound (highly prefer a loud, deep, wholesome sound opposed to high pitched, whining sound) I’ve been looking at Borla but wasn’t sure if there was anything better to consider. Any ideas to get me started are appreciated. I know it’s “my car to decide what to do with it”, but being new to mods and tuning I’m open to all ideas, feedback and input on what you guys have done, recommend or suggest. Thanks to all who can help me out ✊🏼

Just spend a couple of hours checking out these forums. If there's an aftermarket part for the V36 platform, someone here has tried it.

There is a pinned thread in this forum about coupe exhausts and there's the Tech/Intake And Exhaust forum. Don't forget the Media Share forum, there are sure to be videos posted of exhausts. Oh yeah, Youtube.

Lastly, the G37 chassis will accept almost every 370Z (Z34) suspension part, so don't be alarmed if you don't see G37-specific parts but do see 370Z parts, they'll fit.

you could start by getting rid of those hot air intakes.

Any ideas to which brand would be the best as far as cold air intakes? Is there anything else i could put there instead of an intake or is that all it can be? *Not sure if that even makes sense or sounds dumb but hopefully you get what I’m tryn to say. Like I said I’m completely new to this lol*

There's many CAI brands for the G like takeda, stillen gen 3s, injen, etc. A lot of people run the stillens just because they're reputable but there's bigger intakes like AdminTuning's but you would need a tune to run those. But I mean when you say if there's anything else you can put there---- there's always twin turbos or a stillen supercharger

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I read that the g37x’s aren’t built to handle tuning to make them faster (primarily referring to supercharging) because the transmission isn’t built to handle much more horsepower. It said that the x’s (awd models) are pretty much maxed out on performance as they come stock. This doesn’t sound even close to accurate to me because of all the videos I’ve seen of G’s being tuned, enhanced etc. but is there any truth to that at all? That being said, I am primarily leaning towards supercharging it, but what are the pros/cons of supercharging vs a twin turbo. This car is also my daily driver, so I’m trying to keep that in mind as well. So I’m trying to find the best balance between performance and efficiency

AWD models have the same engine/transmission as the RWD ones.

unlike a turbo car, you can spend $thousands trying to eek out a few more horsepower on the somewhat maxed-out G. ask yourself this, though: how many times did you use all 330hp, gas pedal at WOT? i know i don't very often in my daily driver . cheap hp in a turbo car? sure. for *me*, its just not worth it to dump the required amount of money in the G37 for what you get and what i'd realistically use in daily driving. i also don't care about having my ego stroked on internet forums or at car meets.

i got an axleback exhaust for a slightly louder, deeper tone and called it done.

The engine is fairly close to maximum output in N/A form. The automatic transmission was designed to that horespower. Level10 in New Jersey can beef it up somewhat but they told me 5th, 6th and 7th gears just can't take much power.

Forced induction is not something to be taken lightly. It is expensive for the kits and expensive for the upgrades to support those kits. You'd be better off making this a project car, and if it comes out right, then make it a DD.
