G35xS Sedan or G37x Sedan??

Hello all,

after over a year of weighing the pros and cons, I have finally decided to trade in my 2009 Civic Si towards a pre-owned Infiniti!

I have narrowed my search down to 2 vehicles; a 2008 Infiniti G35xS black on black with 43k miles, and a 2011 Infiniti G37x Sedan with 34k miles in Slate Blue, both very clean inside and out, no accidents, etc.

The G35 is priced at $14,700, the G37 is priced at $19,500. My question to yall is which of the 2 would be the better buy? Is the jump from the 3.5L to the 3.7L engine plus the other few extra goodies and about 10k less miles worth the extra 5 grand? Or is the G35X almost just as pleasing in terms of performance?

Really just looking to get the most bang for my buck. If I can save 5 grand and not miss out on much, then that may be the best option for me.

Thanks!

Hello I would definitely go for the g37 of i were you for the performance, the g35 is also nice but you will see that the g37 will have more upgrades since it's a 2011 and looks much better. The 2011 has a 7 speed auto instead of a 5 speed, 328hp and the front bumper fascia is upgraded with dogs underneath. The 2011 is your best bet and you will probably regret choosing the g35 of you had the opportunity to choose the 37 which is more updated. It all depends on what you can afford and what makes you comfortable so either or your making a great decision switching from a civic to a G! Good luck on your search I have 2011 myself and I love it, super reliable car and also you can get a Infiniti elite warranty on it and be covered if anything breaks but there's not much wrong with these cars!

Thank you for your input! After researching for the past year and asking tons of G owners, I dont think Ive heard one person say they have had to make any major repairs. Reliability is a top priority for me coming over from a Honda haha, so thats great to hear! How much is the Infiniti Elite Warranty that you speak of?

It depends i bough mine for about 900 for 48k miles or 4 years I believe. After 30k there a bit more but it maybe worth it. The only problem with those that comes to mind is pre 2012 can have timing gasket issues at high mileage and the labor can be extensive but many say 2011 are fine depending on what part of the year they were built but that's something I'm not sure about, the 7 speed auto has 3 updates for shifting firmness and downshifting which can get done by the dealer. I love my car it's so comfortable and nice even tho it's a 2011 I feelings it's nicer than most basic newer cars out there. I love my interior mine came in black leather and silver trim.

G37... Completely newer model and holds more value and the 10k less miles is give an extra win. In my opinion it's an easy choice for sure. Best of luck and hope to see you as an official G owner soon!

For a 5k difference I would go G37. Depending on the in service date it could even have a little bit of warranty left.
