Sorta New Owner from the Northeast

Hello All! Figured it was time to post an introduction after a long time lurking. I purchased my 2012 OB G37X back at the end of January after a long run of leasing Honda Civics. I was looking for an AWD sedan and happily stumbled on the X (glad I didn’t go with the Subaru Legacy), ended my lease early to take advantage of a great deal; 15K miles, one owner, clean Carfax and for a few thousand under market average… near impossible to pass up. After owning for a few months I still love driving her and realized I forgot what it felt like to drive a car with some power! A big step up from the Civic’s… My only issue is that after washing the car for the first time I noticed a good amount of light swirling in my paint throughout, so planning on getting a professional detail to remove them in the near future (probably a constant battle with the OB paint). Also I have several mods planned but mostly just aesthetic, this will be my daily driver for a long time so the performance mods will definitely take a back seat, for now…

Lastly I just want to say thanks to everyone for posting such great info and DIY’s, especially the moderators, I definitely have tons of inspiration for making my new ride my own! Look out for the build thread coming soon!

Here's a pic from the first day I brought her home

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the forum! A lot of the members on here have noticed that our paint is sub-par compared to other manufacturer finishes, so you may opt to install a clear bra, wrap, or even repaint certain panels. Nevertheless, have fun with the extra power under the hood!

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately our paint is as soft as cotton candy and it's hard to keep it in great shape unless it's a garage queen.

Welcome to the site, ditto above, Infiniti paint is one of my major gripes about these cars, it's very prone to chips, pits and swirls. Just looking at it the wrong way causes chips, lol.
