Getting a CPO 2013 G37x Sedan...
We are picking up a CPO G37x sedan tomorrow. Silver exterior, black interior, barely 15k miles on the clock. Looks to have original brakes, tires, etc. The car came with the Goodyear RS-A tires. I have heard pretty negative reviews about these. Are they really that bad? Should I expect horrible results in the snow here in the northeast? Also wondering how much more life I should expect out of them as well as the brakes? Any common problems I should keep a look out for? It looks like air filters, cabin filters are very easy to change. We are coming from a 2007 Lexus IS250 which could barely get out of it's own way. The car has 128 more HP which is a lot to say the least. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to being a part of the Infiniti community for a long time to come.

The RS-As are a poor tire, but should get you by for a designated winter set, I'd say give them a try and if not then replace them. As far as getting true performance from your G, then yes, those tires are trash.
I'd look into a set of summer tires w/ new wheels (going up to 18s or 19s is common) for the warmer times and like I said, save the RS-As and 17s for winter, and ideally snow tires FTW.
You should get 60k or more out of your brakes but YMMV depending on driving style. I would change brake fluid every couple years since it is affected most by moisture.
And the service items are very easy to DIY, any questions just check our DIY folder.

Thanks for the input. I knew when I saw the reviews for the RS-A it was a poor tire. Too bad they didn't put something better on from the factory. Is there an A/S tire you'd highly recommend for long life and very good snow traction? Noise doesn't really bother me. I'm sure we will replace the tires by or before 30,000 miles.

Thanks for all the help. All I can say about this car is that I am extremely impressed overall. I TOTALLY didn't expect it to feel THAT powerful. My reaction to getting on the highway and flooring it was priceless. I also love that exhaust note. A couple questions:
-My rear brakes are already going at 15k miles. This I was also not expecting. They have the ever-common judder/vibration under heavy braking. Someone said they should last 60K miles?! The previous owner must have beat on them pretty bad. I noticed the rear pads look blue in color and do say Nissan. Are there different OEM pads?
-I was adjusting the driver's side front headrest and noticed that they have some back and forth give in them, maybe for an accident? Is this normal? I was trying to adjust the horizontal position but I guess there is no adjustment for that.
My salesman told me that it isn't TOTALLY necessary to use premium fuel and that the car takes regular oil but it is an "ester". Should I use full synthetic at all? Thanks very much!

It's best to use premium only since the manufacturer recommends it and it will be totally worth it, the extra 30 cents or so a gallon is totally not bad instead of buying cheap regular gas, and you want the full performance of the car, as far as in oil some people will say regular some people will say fully synthetic but fully synthetic is recommended and worth it in my opinion I see it this way it'll pay off in the long run to put the good stuff in it. Everyone has different opinions but it is recommended from the manufacturer for a reason. Welcome to the forum!
the car is "supposedly" designed to compensate for the lower octane, but you will definitely lose some power because of it, so why even bother.
As for synthetic, if you can change it yourself, you can get a premium synthetic oil at walmart for $25, so its not that much more expensive, and the downsides to doing it is none.
