first car :)

Hello all,

Started posting on the forum but forgot to make a thread here.

2011 G37X
23K miles

Got the wheels dipped satin black recently. I still have 11 months under warranty from Infiniti.

Also have 50% tints as I don't like driving at night with complete black tints and being afraid of cops even though I have a 2015 PBA. I have black interior so it looks dark enough at night.

What other mods should I do? I have a few in mind but don't think I will get to them quickly since I still have warranty and it may avoid it?
- Exhaust
- GTR Red button
- HID fog lights 6000K to match headlights from Diode Dynamics
- Trunk light LED from Diode Dynamics
- License plate light LED from Diode Dynamics

Wow, nice first car
Welcome to the site Tim.
Looks like you did a nice job on the wheels.
Might look into these taillights, the GTR style looks great if done well

As far as warranty, the exhaust will be fine as lone as it's a catback or axle back, if you get into the cats then there could be issues.
Suspension mods are typically OK but depends on what specific warranty claims are being done.
At any rate, enjoy that first car, my first car was a real POS, but gotta start somewhere, and that was 37 years ago, lol.

You lucky sob!! Man congrats on scoring a G on your first ride. And with low miles huge plus in my book.

Are you wanting to mod for power, aesthetics, or both?

I'd put a LT cold air intake on the list (takeda IMO)
Some drilled n slotted rotors (brake performance)

That's one great mod for power and one for aesthetics...you could look at a midnight grill if you don't dig the rotors idea
Welcome

Congrats! I too picked up a 2011 G37x Coupe earlier this year.

I see you're looking at changing some lights to LEDs. Why stop at the fog lights, trunk, and license? Change the doors and map lights too! Take a look at my before and after pictures below. They're worth the extra few bucks if you ask me.

Enjoy your ride, timc00k!

Totally agree. The minimal cost compared to the awesome look of upgrading to some 6000K to 6500K leds for interior LEDs cannot be beat! Absolutely LOVE looking at the interior when I hit the unlock button on the handle at night!

Did you guys get the LEDs from Diode Dynamics? The LED lights are pretty damn cheap.

Was it hard to replace the lights? I am guessing it's just like a regular changing light bulb method?

I got mine from an ebay seller, though I really like DD's LEDs. Changing is easy though the license plate lights were the toughest due to the clearance to get the housing pulled out. If they don't light one way, turn them around. That's pretty much it. All of the lenses pull out easily. The only one to watch is the map light. The manual tells you how to get to them.

I think I paid about $12-$15 total to replace
Map lights
Courtesy lights
Rear Oh Sh** lights
Vanity Lights
License plate lights

should take you 15 minutes, 30 if you have a beer while doing it.
