Aftermarket upgrades?

So I just bought a 2011 g37xs. Anybody know what upgrades won't void a factory warranty?

Bolt-on intake and exhaust systems will not void the warranty.

What are you looking to improve upon?

Technically it's at the discretion of the dealership. As long as they can bs their way to tie your intake to cause any part failure they can void the warranty. With that said my local dealership would install Stillen supercharger kit and still honor warranty. Bottom line YMMV.

Any upgrade that violates the law, e.g., test pipes, or compromises safety in a legal sense for a dealer may void your warranty.

But all you have to do is prove that the aftermarket didn't cause the problem. Which is pretty easy to do. I never had a problem and i am highly modified.

And just in case the dealer can prove that the cause of the problem is brought by the installed aftermarket parts, they will just void certain warranty claims and not the entire warranty.

While I don't think intake or exhaust is going to void your warranty, proving aftermarket parts didn't cause the problem is easier said than done.

While you might be 100% correct, the dealer might disagree, and short of legal action, there is no way to force the dealer to provide warranty repair. So you potentially have an out of commission car and are fighting not just the dealer, but infiniti corporate, who reimburses the dealer for the work.
