New IPL Owner - DC Area

Picked up an 11' IPL coupe last weekend. Visited this forum pretty much every day since then so figured I should join

Looks like my rotors need replacing so that might be the first thing to take care of. Had a 12' Mustang GT and just got tired of the American muscle thing. Had all the power but none of the luxury features that the G does.

I honestly thought I was going to the dealer just to go on a test drive. Was VERY surprised after driving the car. Not as fast off the line as the Mustang but it is not slow by any measure. I almost want to go test drive a normal G37S to compare. Once I get it moving on the interstate, dropping it down into 3rd pulls pretty damn hard and that's coming from a 400+ HP V8 with tons of torque.

Car has 35,000 miles on it and got it for $28,900 plus taxes/tags etc.

Good deal you think?

Car is spotless. Loving it so far.

Tony

Trust me my man, you will miss the sound and power of the v8 (former mustang owner myself). However, the G does a lot of things well so I'm sure you you will be satisfied. Congrats.

Welcome to the site! I am 30 miles south of DC and have a 08 Journey 37. I too came from American Muscle and had they not been so expensive, would have got another one. But Infiniti does grow on you with all they offer as standard. I paid 18 for mine with 56k on it, also in flawless condition. And, like your situation, my car needs brakes as well but thats due to minor vibration, no squeaks yet. Are you interested in tracking your car, or just having a daily driver? If you are, there are 2 Test and Tunes at MIR this year left.

Very nice pick up

My friend has a 2014 GT 5.0 and he let me borrow for a day, I couldn't wait to get back in the G 5.0 looks sweet and has awesome power but the IPL is way more refined with very decent power as well. Enjoy it!

The power I def. miss just a little bit but the sound not so much. The loudness of the Mustang was great for the past 2 years but it just got annoying after a while imo...

The G is such a better car overall. Although the Mustang had tons of power I never felt it transferred to the road very well.

Exactly...lol

Link to my 5.0 that is up for sale now...not a bad deal actually if anyone in the area knows someone looking for a 5.0. I bought it CPO'd actually -- in great shape...BUT it's not a G
