Another New Guy

Been a member since March but just picked up a 2011 G37X a couple weeks ago. I've been on this forum every day since. There is so much information here. I'm grateful to be a part of the forum.

Nice pickup
Being on the site a while do you have any plans for your new G?

Thanks! The M56S wheels were the first thing to go on. They were on my Maxima previously and look great on the G. I had the windows tinted this morning. 20% except for the windshield at 50%. I have purchased the midnight black grille and a factory spoiler.

That's all I have planned for now. However, I am doing my research on the possibility of doing a front chin spoiler or swapping out the entire front bumper for a sportier looking one. Not sure if it is a direct swap out for the Sport or IPL bumpers or not. I'm looking at the pictures section to get some ideas. I've found some that I like and will contact the owners with some questions.

I am also looking at adding the paddle shifters as the install looks very easy to do and, although it's really just a novelty, it is kind of nice to use every now and then.

I like how these cars look lowered but my Maxima was lowered and my wife got car sick after lowering it so I'm probably not going to do that on the G.

I may do the sway bars to help stiffen up the handling. Don't know yet but I found a pretty good deal on the set on Amazon. Still debating that one.

That's about it, though. Ha!

Thanks all! Appreciate the welcome wagon. The car looks so much better with the tint. I'm actually quite surprised. It was raining today so I couldn't take a picture. I also put the midnight black grille in tonight. Along with the grounding kit and replacing the cabin filter and the air filters. I got the spoiler in but I think I'll hold off on that until I have a buddy of mine help me out next week. He put the spoiler on his G a few months ago so he has first hand experience with it. For me, it always helps being able to tap into experience on things like this. I'm enjoying the car a lot. And have learned a lot here on the forum already. I'm thankful for those who have gone before me and have decided to share their knowledge and experience. It makes my ownership experience so much better.

You've been busy, sounds like some nice additions. Now that you're eliminating chrome here's a easy DIY for your window trim, would look good w/ your M wheels.

Thanks for the link Brad. I actually ran across that video when I had my black Maxima. On the black, the chrome just popped off the car. It was very obvious. However, on my white G, the chrome doesn't do that so it doesn't bother me. I agree that it would look better blacked out but I'm not gonna go that route. Not for now anyway. I wanted to swap out the stock chrome grille for the midnight black one because I didn't like how the bottom grille was black and the top grille was chrome. The midnight black grille looks better with the black lower grille in my opinion. In the future, I may decide to body color match the chrome on the car instead of black it out. However, I've read and have been told by the body guys I work with that 1. the midnight white pearl is a challenging color to get right and 2. painting over chrome can be challenging. Both are possible, though, so it just depends on how bad I want it done. I'm in no rush.

Speaking of the grille though, replacing it was a bigger pain than I thought it would be. More specifically, the grille itself wasn't hard to replace but getting that damn radiator cover off was incredibly frustrating. Then again, part of the frustration was that I didn't have a pair of pliers to help release the tabs for the wire loom. I chose to do everything at work Friday night only to find a lot of tools missing. Oh well. It's done and good to go. Next up will be the rear spoiler.
