I have been driving a tired out 97 Nissan maxima for the last 6 years and finally was able to upgrade to a 2010 g37x sedan 44,000 miles. Just looking to do minor changes mostly just tinted windows, lights, and maybe some intakes. This may sound like a dumb question but why do the Gs have dual intakes. Im sure it has to do with power but let me know. These forums are awesome btw, some very good posts.

The VQ design by Nissan, the twin induction system was for more power...

 

As NJ Torque said, the dual intake gives less opportunity for starvation in a high revving motor like the VQ. Nissan/Infiniti switched to a dual intake system back in the G35 days when they redesigned the motor from the VQ35DE to the VQ35HR.

My max has 219000 miles on it. I purchased it when i was 14 for a grand with 135000 miles. It was a great car. But my G is amazing
