Which cold air intake should i get?

I was deciding between four different potential intakes for my 2009 G37x coupe.

Amazon.com: K&N 69-7078TS 69 Series Typhoon Air Intake Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: K&N 69-7078TS 69 Series Typhoon Air Intake Kit: Automotive

GReddy 12529001 Air Intake System - Infiniti G37 08-12

The K&N is the cheapest one so i am leaning towards that one but i wasn't sure if that one was a cold air intake or a short ram intake. I am sure the other three are cold air intake. Also which would be the best buy? I want the best sound for my car and somewhat increase in horsepower but sound is more important. Also where can I get it installed if its too difficult when i try? Thanks guys

So.. $300'ish for sound?

most people here will recommend Stillen Gen 3 for intakes but if noise is all you're after may i suggest a CD of V8 engines to blast through your stereo?

Those are two completely different intakes altogether. I just ordered the R2C and was looking at the K&N as well. The reason I went with the R2c is because it looks better and the filters are not oiled. Out of the two you show, I would get the K&N because of less risk of engine water damage.

I don't have stillen listen, stillen is too much for me. I was thinking the K&N vs. the greddy vs. the Injen vs. Takeda. Review the links please and which one should i chose?

Okay, on a serious note, it's been pretty well established that the "short ram" effect isn't prominent on this car. There's too many bottlenecks for it to work like that. The shorties are more difficult to tune (according to my tuner), and won't net you the same gains as a long tube.

Of the ones you chose, I'd pick the Injen's, but with those you need to watch out for standing water. The Injen intakes draw air from much lower in the car than your stillen/takeda types.

This is a pretty active forum, people come in literally every day and ask about cold air vs short ram intakes. In the future, please do some research on your own instead of creating a new thread. If you have an original question, that's one thing, but I have *personally* answered this question at least 50 times for other new members, the threads are out there.

Another for Turbonator. Added about 17hp and cheap on ebay. If you can afford it I'd get two.

I'd go with the 2nd option Takeda but it requires removing the bumper. The K&N looks too short and may just suck in hot air.

Spend about 80 bucks for K&N filters and call it a day.
