Any regret in color choice?

Hey guys, I've been shopping for my 2010 G sedan for a while now and started out it had to be graphite shadow, but now I'm throwing black into the mix to be more flexible of a potential better deal. This one dealership has 3 or 4 black 2010's and I'm hoping to get the deal in my favor.

Well, I test drove a 2010 graphite shadow with the 18 in sport wheels and I felt like it was exactly what I wanted (but it was beat up). But im thinking if I can bring home this black G with premium package, navigation AND the sport wheels I love..? Am I going to regret not getting the color I was mesmerized by from the beginning??

Has anyone regretted jumping the gun or other reasons?

Like you, I knew I wanted the graphite shadow, actually I knew I wanted the 2010 Anniversary edition with everything (including the monaco red leather interior) and i am soo totally happy i waited until I got the exactly what I wanted. I still get compliments on the car for the exterior and interior color, sport front and rear spoilers, tinted windows that make the car that much more sexy, etc. I will tell you, black cars look great when clean, but with this color choice, it can be dirty and still sexy, where a black car looks filthy quick the minute its not clean. I know this from owning a black car in the past and as much as black is actually my favorite color, i won't own another black car because its just too much work to keep it looking clean. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with whatever you choose, i'm sure you'll love the car itself.

I went about my G color in a different way. I didn't want silver b/c I was trading out of a silver car. The wife's QX is Moonlight White so although I think that color looks great on the G, I didn't want that. My Q7 is dark gray so I wasn't keen on Graphite Shadow. When I first saw the xS that I bought, I wasn't jumping at that thought of a red car. But I quickly warmed up to it and now very much appreciate it. In fact, if I had to "choose" a color, I'd go with red.

My point- be patient and get what you want. If I had gotten a silver/gray/white G, I'd "like" it but always look at different colors and wonder what might have been.

Owning a black car is more work, but I like keeping my cars clean all the time so I'm used to regular dusting, the quick water spot removal, and assorted "tidying-up" between washes. It's gotten to the point where it's pretty quick & easy as it becomes routine. This is my fifth black car, and won't be my last.

That said, if you've got a color that you really connect with and see anything else as a distant second choice I'd keep looking.

I had dark slate metallic on my previous car ( 09 Altima) and when I got my G37 I got black, yes it looks sexy when its clean or when it's getting dark or on a cloudy day but damn it's hard to keep that color clean. On some days I wish I had gone with like graphite shadow.

I appreciate the comments guys. Bottom line is black is sexy, but I think I'm just gravitating towards graphite shadow. Probably best to remain patient until that car comes along.

A 2010 should be pretty easy to find what you're wanting, just have to spread your search a little farther, damn cars aren't cheap these days so you shouldn't have to settle.
Good luck w/ your search

I've owned black cars since I was 16 and never regretted a single one. Well, OK, there are a few that just didn't work in black but they were few and far between. One thing to keep in mind though with black is every swirl, every scuff and every scratch shows up about 100X more on black paint that about any other color. When its clean and polished, nothing shines like deep black and nothing is more stunning. However, as others have mentioned, its a diva to keep in that shape. If you want a car that looks pretty good clean or dirty, hides scratches well and doesn't advertise your indiscretions at the local car wash, Id go with the Graphite or Platinum colors.

Thanks absinthe, I'm with you! Black is a diva! I see black g37's a couple times a week and they catch my eye and they're really nice.

I've owned a couple black cars but never gray, so I'm definitely going graphite shadow 2010 sedan if I can ever find it in it close in my region!

Also, the g37S graphite shadow wheels are starting to grow on me I think!:/

I like how the black looks, but have always shied away from it due to how much harder they are to keep nice. Most of the ones I was looking at were either black or Blue Onyx/Slate and I ended up with the latter.
