I need help in what to get!!
Hi, Guys! I just recently graduated from Texas State University(GO Bobcats)!! & am having problems deciding on what car to get! The choices are:a Used BMW 335I coupe & UsedG37 coupe or sedan(All these cars have pretty good low mileage and roughly around the same price range, with the BMW being a grand more expensive).
Please, help me as I make this decision. I need all the input I can get !! Thx

are you looking for an auto or a manual? and also just to let you know, how long are you gonna keep the care for? if its for a long time, id get the g37, cuz the bimmers gonna be in the service center more then you drive it...
I have a feeling you will get most "MYG37" members recommending the G...
Bimmer: Super common, uggo interior, and bland overall.
G Sedan: Great looking, pretty common, and when modded can look immature.
G Coupe: Less common, sick looking even when stock, can look immature when modded, great looking interior, not cheap to mod (but none of our choices are), drives great, wont crap out like the bimmer, not gonna carry much if you need to move anything..... You will fall in love with it!
Cliff Notes: You are a big boy, decide for yourself, and then post pics.

"You are a big boy, decide for yourself" But i dont want to.. haha. Jk. I do like the G37, wait I love the G37. Something that is bothering me: which is one is more sportier? I have been reading a lot & i have been getting 50/50 conclusions. Could any 1 of you guys comment on the sportiness of the G compare to the 335i?
I would rate the G more on the sporty side, and the 335i more on the luxury side of the sport/luxury category of cars that they both fall into. Now some background on my choice.
I come from a family of Bimmer buyers. Almost everyone in my family has owned or owns a BMW at this point. I've had my long share of seat time in a late 80's 3-series, 2003 M3, 2007 335i, 2006 650i, 1998 740iL, and a 2003 745Li (I think I forgot a couple).
I've seen firsthand what's happened to BMW's quality control. It's not pretty. The 650's iDrive went ballistic and started causing shifting issues, and the windows would get stuck, because yet again, an iDrive issue. The 6 had other issues related to iDrive later down the road also. The 335i had a bad engine, which had to be replaced not once, but twice. The 745 had a transmission issue and more iDrive related garbage.
Anyway, I just couldn't afford to deal with silly issues like that on my daily driver, so I told myself I was getting a Japanese car for reliability, which... well, Nissan, because they're not Honda and their accelerators don't stick.
But all that being said, that's just my experience. Most of my family has been alienated from buying further BMWs for this very reason, and the customer service has been a hassle as well. But hey, your mileage may vary, I'm just going based off of my own experiences.

i havent drove any bimmers so i cant comment on them first hand. i think if you get any of the cars you mention you will be extremely happy... well not if the bimmer keeps breaking down lol... jk. the G is not gaurenteed to not have issues either but i think just less likely. i got my g last year april. ive had 0 problems with it and im extremely happy with it. i am just excited about the car now as the day i pulled it off the lot.
I have owned both and the 335i is by far faster and easier to mod. But like others have said the interior isnt as nice as the G and the reliability isnt that great. Most 335i have to get their fuel pump replaced and if you run out of warranty be prepared to pay. If this is a longer term purchase I would stick with Infiniti, if you are going to enjoy it for a few years then get rid of it - I would say the 335i is better. Either way both cars are great.
I just had a similar dilemma (Audi vs Infiniti) just prior to purchasing my G37. My previous car was a BMW 540i and now I'm driving a G37x.
My personal feelings on BMWs are that they're great if they're lower mileage and taken-care-of. If you're a spirited driver and like to push your car hard somewhat often, don't go that route. I was hard on mine and started running into expensive repairs at 120k miles (Transmission rebuild, fuel, oil, water pumps replaced, body work done, transmission control computer replaced, etc. -- mine was an auto) As symple84 said about the fuel pump, they're generally known to go around 90k-100k miles. Mine went at 110. Once it starts to bleed, it doesn't stop. Expect $1000+ repair bills if you take it to the shop. BMW makes a really nice car, but I don't think I would own another one, especially right now.

There's plenty of information and reviews out there on the two cars, just look around. In the end, it's your car and your choice. Hope that's helpful.
