Hello!

Hello everyone,

I've been browsing these forums for a few months now and since I just purchased my first Infiniti, a 2010 G37x coupe, I thought I'd sign up and say hello. My previous ride was a 1994 BMW 540i that I've always wanted to tune, but never took the opportunity. Things will be different for the Infiniti! So far, I've tinted the windows and installed paddle shifters. I'm not the most mechanically-inclined person so I've been trying to start small, not bite off more than I can chew and learn as much as I can in the process. If anyone has suggestions on other easy and useful upgrades for a daily-driver, let me know. Here's a list of a couple things I'm considering (in no particular order):

-Illuminated Kickplates
-Strut Tower bar
-Sway Bars
-Body Kit
-Rims
-Lowering it? I live in PA and my employer doesn't close it's doors on nasty snow days during the winters, so I may need the extra ground clearance to get to/from work. I'd be curious to hear the opinions others who've lowered their Gs and brave nasty snowstorms during the winter.

Anyway, nice to meet you all, I'm looking forward to some good times ahead.

-Gene

Hey Gene, I see you are in Allentown, I am in Macungie. I have the sport model and I really don't take it out in the winter unless it's absolutely necessary, but you should be fine if you have the X and don't get it dropped too low. I am on Eibach and I think it's a perfect drop for the car. If you ever want to see mine just let me know, we can arrange to meet somewhere and you can see the drop.

Thanks all! I'm glad to hear the kickplates seem to be pretty popular and look good -- I was on the fence about them but now I'll have to order some.

DJ - The only pics I have right now are of the car in stock-form. I'll have to take some with tints, shifters, and hopefully kickplates sometime soon and post.

Nick - Thanks very much for the information, that's really helpful. I'd love to check out your ride sometime. I'll PM you sometime soon and we'll have to setup a good time to meet.

hah, too late!

Thanks for the feedback on the illuminated kickplates all, I ordered some this afternoon and I'm hoping to get them by the end of the week. Once I get them installed and detail the car, I'll take some updated pics, but for now, here's a few early ones:

Nice start Gene. I would suggest Eibach springs to bring it down some, since you still want some clearance for the snowy conditions. But thats why you got allwheel drive, isn't it? Haha. Obviously if you search around the Forum you will find all sorts of wheel options that could be considered. The variations are almost endless. It is definitely one of the most obvious ways to set your car apart from the others and make it unique to you. The springs lower you ride and will improve the handling. The sway bars will make a huge improvement and are not that difficult to install. Just easier with a lift or ramps. Strut tower brace is somewhat beneficial but not as much as the sway bars. Super easy to install too.

Have fun with it and thanks for posting the pics.
