New here*. Upgraded from G35 to G37

Whats up? So 2 months ago I totaled mt G35. I was looking at options for a new ride, I was very close to getting a BMW 3 series or a Z4, and Im very happy i didn't. I bought an 08" G37 and LOOVE it! 1st thing I need to do is tint the windows...

Im also thinking about updating the GPS, its annoying not being able to find 90% of destinations..

I like how is has DS, but im not sure how it works.

this is my new ride

Welcome to the G37 community! I know what you mean about the outdated maps on the nav. My 2008's nav maps are outdated as well and I might look to upgrade it sometime soon. The DS mode on the G lets you shift sequentially with either optional paddle shifters or with the shifter--good for when you want to drive more aggressively.

Where are you from?

Congrats and welcome. Great decision you made. Good luck with the upgrades and use the search engine in the forum for all your ideas and questions. Lots of good info there like tint percentages, nav updates, etc.

Also... in DS mode you don't have to shift it if you don't want to. If you pull the shifter toward you it will show DS in the dash. The tranny will shift on its own, at a later rpm, and it rev matches (downshifts) when you slow down.

If you shift it manually, via the shifter or paddles... it reverts to manual mode and will not upshift until you do it, or until you rev it out.

Lets be honest... that 335i ain't no slouch. Awesome frickin' ride, but being the practical person that I am, the bang for the buck value of the Infiniti is too good to pass up.

A similarly equipped Beemer was $8,700 more. Then... after your 4 years of maintenance are done... (in which they do very little) compare the price of a brake job.

Hey... your jaw just hit the floor. Pick it up.

welcome! Just so you are aware, you probably aren't using your navigation correctly because i'm pretty sure you're stuck in a different part of the country and thats why you cant find anything lol
