New owner - very happy

Got my baby on Wed. Very happy with it, just need to make it feel more like my Z with a few small upgrades.

few questions which I searched for and couldn't find answers:

Am I able to shave the rear emblems entirely without any holes in the trunk lid? Z had 2 holes

I am looking to put 19's (9.5 and 10.5 or 9.0 and 10.0 staggered) on with a descent summer tire. I want to spend about 2- 3k. I also want my wheels to be perfectly even with the edge of the fender. Anyone have suggestions for descent set and what offset I should use. I am also looking for black spokes with chrome or machined lip.

Retinting - G came with what looks like 40 - 50% tint. I want it darker. Can tint be removed from the back window with the defroster back there?

Bats overlays - for those that have used his high quality overlays, did you find it difficult to put his overlays over the taillights? I did my Z without issue, but the G has a pretty sharp edge on the outside of the taillights. Should I get a tint guy to do it?

Thanks for your help on this stuff.

Here are some pics.

Congrats!!!! Looks like the car may have originally been debadged. The G37 and the S are spread to far apart for OEM. You definitely have S since it is 6MT though. Emblems can be easily removed. They are held on by double sided 3M mounting tape. Get a hair dryer and some fishing line. May need to Goo Gone too to clean up the residue.

Thanks Blackjack, I noticed that too. A lot of detailers will do that when waxing a car to get in the nooks and crannies So the Infiniti symbol has no holes behind it? I am stoked!

Nope... no pins used to secure badging. You are good to go.

Yes, it does appear that the car was "rebadged." This supports my contention in past threads that debadged cars are worth a little less when resold. In this case the dealer, believing that, put the badges back, albeit with the S not the exact OEM position . Now the OP may not care in this case because he wants to remove them again anyway, but in general the premise seems to have some validity.

It does have some validity. While I'm partially debadged, if new badges are ordered and applied PROPERLY and ACCURATELY then I wouldn't say it matters. But, I would tend to agree with you statement, Grandpa!

Just messin with ya with the Grandpa thing!

No problem. At my age being called anything is a plus. Like the old George Burns line when he reached 100: “When I get up in the morning I first read the obituaries. If I’m not listed I shave.”
