new G owner
new G owner
I just bought a G37 sedan, liquid platinum, graphite & rosewood, journey, premium package and 7sp AT.
Love the car, and look for just about any excuse to drive it.
It may not be the most highly advanced car, the fastest or best in track performance. But is does seem to offer the best blend of characteristics that people generally look for in a car.
I find that the handling is not your typical 4 door midsize sedan, but has tendency to be more like a "sports" car. Having just traded a car that was heavily tuned for handling this is much preferable because you can live with it in a real world, day in day out.
I have driven just the opposite in an Camry from work, and it tracks very poorly, rolling around like a boat in a wake. Yet the sizes of the 2 cars are very similar.
Fit and finish of the interior is very good, the ergonomics are excellent.
Many new cars today seem to make your knees, calves or feet make contact with some interior trim, but the G does not. It doesn't expect me to twist my neck every time to get in and out of it. Even the back seat, while it is a little harder to enter is very comfortable when you get there.
This was one of the main reasons why the G37 was chosen over its competition. Lexus IS is too cramped, so is the BMW 3 series.
The Audi A4 has about the same room, but some issues you notice once inside. Like headrests that tend to be too close to your head, inconvenient parking brake, etc.
The A4 does have a monster sized trunk though, when the G is adequate.
Audi just does not have the reputation for holding together as well especially if you plan to keep the car long term.
The same can be said of BMW, and I suppose that is why they have had to resort to marketing the cars with paid maintenance for 4 years.
While the forums give people a chance to see what issues may be occurring with a particular brand and model, some times you must also be aware that non-issues are not written about.
Overall there does not seem to be too many complaints, and from what I have read, the dealers and Infiniti do try and take care of the customer.
I hope that I will have a good experience with both the car and service for a long time to come. So far I love the car. Of course it is the first car I ever paid this much for, so I had better.
