Is it too late to say hi?

Is it too late to introduce myself after 250 posts? I never quite got around to doing it.

So anyway. I had a 2003 IP G35. I'd never heard of the car until I saw one in the garage at work in early 2003. I couldn't help but stare at the thing and knew I had to have one. I was finally almost a year out of my 10years college and 4 degrees and had money to get a real car. I'd had 3 Honda Civics prior to the G. Never had a single problem with any of them.

I did the African delivery option

The car was great and I hardly had any problems with it. I had a 39month lease and then bought the lease out at the end waiting for the G37's to come out. Infiniti dragged its feet too long with the release so I decided to jump ship over to BMW and get a white (Alpine white in BMW speak) 335 coupe.

I got it via European Delivery, which as far as I'm concerned is the only way to buy a car! Too bad Infiniti doesn't have Asian delivery.

Outside the delivery center. (now they have the BMW Welt, which is way more exciting!)

You get a cool European licence plate while you are over there. Oddly, in talking to my German friend, they all want cool American plates. Go figure.

Since I got my US plates to match my Euro plates, I drove around with my Europlates on my car for a month until my US plates arrived. Never got pulled over for it

In the airport in Munich they have a BMW wall that's pretty cool. It seems to be customary for everyone doing ED to get their picture taken in front of it.

So the BMW has been a great car, although admittedly I've had more problems with it service wise than I did with my Infiniti. The lease on my BMW is up in 2/09 and as I tend to get bored with things and want new and exciting things, I'm coming back to Inifinti for a G37S, in white of course. I've not heard if they make them in colors other than white or not, but I don't think they do. I'm thinking maybe a 3 year lease and then go back to Munich in 2012 to pick up another 3 series as that's the year they'll be redisigned.

I always thought the G was a much sexier car than the BMW, but the G37 just pushes that even further! My dealer had an IP G37S sitting out front and all I could do was just sit there and stare at it. My BMW owning friend is sure his silver 330 sedan is better looking than the G. I told him we'd take then both down to the mall and ask the first 10-20 women that came out which one thy liked. I'm not sure his would even get a vote.

I'm certainly not a fanboy for either brand, but can appreciate the advantages and shortcomings of each. They are both awesome cars!

Anyway, so there's my story. Happy to be here.

That's the plan in February. We'll see how getting a sports car in the middle of the snowy winter goes. I'll never be able to get it home from the dealer, and after I do, it'll sit in my garage for another month.

Official welcome to you and your posts have always been very fair regarding both brands. It's obvious you are not a fanboy, but just appreciate the finer things in life and research your choices wisely.

Well, I didn't know it was going to be 10 years when I started or it would have been much more daunting. Can't do much with a bachelors these days except go to more school.

I'm a physician assistant (if you're familiar with PAs) in the ER.

B.S. in Biology
M.S. in Microbiology, Immunlogy & retrovirology
B.S. and M.S. in physician assistant

I realized that school just doesn't pay all that well so I figured I should stop and start working at some point.
