Must be a South Florida thing, mine was brought up from Coconut Grove and like you I rarely saw red G's...It wasn't so much keeping it looking good as it was issues with the paint itself...it also arrived with gold pin striping which I didn't want, they had to wet sand it 3 times before it was acceptable and without haze...that was just one of the issues ... didn't keep me from loving him dearly though ... I hope you have much better luck

I'm a little late, but hello and welcome. When I was looking at getting my G I was all about the Blue Slate, but the deal they offered me was on their existing inventory, which in my trim level, was only a BO and Silver. With 3 black cars already in the books what's another Black ride going to matter. But I do like the blue slate a lot, congrats.

 

I wanted blue slate but they said you can pick any colour as long as it's black

The Blue boy was the only one on the lot other than Black and Platinum...and they had in excess of 20 8's left...being the curious one that I am, I had to ask why there were so many of just two colors...the response was that their research showed Black/White/Some form of grey/silver were the most popular colors or maybe that was their way of getting rid of too much paint Had I not found the blue boy I would have gone with black and just endured the maintenance...I did learn to NEVER EVER get another G without the sport package (which the blue boy didn't have )
