Sorry to hear this, but despite where you go, the grass isnt always greener on the other side...I say this, cuz I was going to Passport and I now go to IOC eventhrough Passport is like 8 miles shorter in distance. I had alot of warranty issues that involved my XM Satellite system w/ Passport cuz I bought my car from Grubbs, but because they consider Grubbs to be a "Performance" Infiniti Dealer and some of their parts are not Infiniti accepted all around.
Because when I bought my car, I didnt want the standard Big Azz XM Receiver on my back glass and opted for the micro xm receiver on my trunk lid, but when the wires were pinched, Passport refused to fix it under warranty, cuz it is not an "official" infiniti part and made Grubbs fit the bill and wouldnt let me leave until they faxed over the paperwork and shipped the parts and payed for the labor.
I thought that all infiniti dealerships are suppose to be one big happy family and talk to each other...how am I suppose to know that the part is not an official infiniti part. Despite Vince being Vince, I have not had any severe issues w/ IOC and I am pretty good friends w/ one of the mechanics and of course Gary is real cool. Once again, sorry to hear about your situation

um, how about NO! My insurance has NOTHING to do with this. If I claim anything on my insurance, the rates would go up.
whoa baby!! just asking a question
I understand what you mean though klok about other dealers. All I expect is decent service, but I cant seem to even get that. All of the perks is a plus, but I can do without them if I could just get good work and service.

I never buy rental car insurance cause State Farm Insurance has rental coverage in it. I think he's trying to say you get the rental car free but you dont get the insurance as well. You gotta pay extra or go with your own.

^Well I have never gotten into any kind of an accident to where I would have to use the statefarm insurance. Mine is usually 99% covered by the dealer on both my cars and on my other car, the service rep gives me $20 out his pocket for gas whenever I get a rental. I have never had to call State Farm for anything relating to rental reimbursement, but if they do only cover 80%, I think that is about right, cuz most insurance companies put a cap of between 40-45/day on rentals. I mean they dont want you to take your honda in for serious work and rent a jag/benz/G35 on their dollar.

A friend of mine had issues with her car caused by a dealership. They offered a loaner but wanted her to pay $25/day for insurance. Her credit card comes with free rental insurance. Use the credit card, decline the insurance from the dealership, and if something happens, the credit card pays. I think my old car insurance included it free, and my current insurance only charges an extra couple dollars per 6 months for full rental car coverage. I suppose it would depend on how your insurance works whether or not it'd be worth it to risk using your own.

Whenever a dealer offers you a rental car and not a loaner car, they are paying for the cost of the rental car only. Any insurance that you decide to get you are paying for. I do not advise on it because if you already have car insurance that should cover you in a rental car in the case of accident just as if you were driving your own car, or borrowing a friends car for that matter. Also, like said above, most credit card companies provide rental car insurance automatically as well. So it is really not needed to opt for the additional insurance offered by the rental car companies.
