Dude you're comparing MJ to Kobe? Get the heck outta here. Jordan is hands down the greatest player ever to play. Phil Jackson will even tell you that much. Shot over Ehlo, shot over Russell, nobody's ever hit bigger shots. Let me know when Kobe even wins 5 championships.

Jordan has carried his team to 6 championships. 3 in his first prime. 3 in his second prime. As good as he is, Kobe has yet to lead his team to a championship.

But I guess this thread is about who you would have take the game winning shot. It would have to be Jordan. I can remember many game winners for Jordan that have made the highlight reels over and over again, but not for Kobe.

i agree w/ most everyone there. i was a huge bulls fan and the difference between a good player and a decent player is simple. jordan was so good that he made other players look good...you ask whom?? Pippen...Pippen was good simply b/c he played next to Jordan. Please dont ever compare Jordan and Kobe...Kobe's a kid in comparison maturity wise....and athletically Kobe has missed some game winning shots that Jordan never wouldve missed....I cant recall a game winning shot where Jordan didnt come through....

In addition look at whom Kobe's teammates are...most ppl who even "TRY" and compare the two never watched some of MJ's games and/or were too young to really know whats up. alot of ppl think MJ was/is all hype and there's nothing behind the man. but go pick up some of his game footage tapes and watch that little shuffle he did on Majic back in his youth hay day and you'll see what I mean....young bucks get outta here!!

Jordan no doubt about it. He was a freaking beast and any player knows it. Don't get me wrong Kobe is a beast too and I would't want to **** him off on the court, but Jordan is on a different level. Now both are clutch players that pretty much can't be stopped. However, Jordan was so good that he literally owned all other players. Short list of players he routinely dominated and won championships over, Barkley, Ewing, Drexler, Miller, Stockton, and Malone. All hall of famers none without a ring, except for Drexler but that was during Jordans first retirement. Isn't that list half of the original Dream Team, the greatest basketball team ever? Teams know now to let Kobe get his, stop the teammates and you can win. With Jordan other teams were scared no matter what, they knew Jordan wouldn't let his team lose no matter what.

On top of that with Kobe if you talk smack to him he holds grudges, but will punish you, ex. him tearing Ray Allen up and that whole Steve Nash all up in his nuts while getting dunked on thing. Jordan would just talk straight up trash to you during the game, get in your head, and look at your face while he embarasses you with a highlight. Then gives you a nice congrats for losing. In his prime he had TWO 3-peats. Kobe had a 3 peat but closer to the beginning of his career. It is funny and true that I read Kobe is having Jordan's career oppositely. So he basically had a good team and was the one to beat, now he's looking at the elites and trying to get there.

Jordan missed a lot of game winners in his days, we just tend to remember the makes and forget about the misses.

its on the ultimate Jordan DVD compilation, the silver box. during one of the interviews he talked about making game winners, he said he missed more game winners than he made them.

basically theres around 90-100 games a season including playoffs, every time theres a close game, MJ gets the ball at the end of the game when they are down. He makes some and he miss some. most of the close games that the Bulls lost during MJ's career are usually example of missed last second shots by MJ.

Yeah that is true but how many of those games were important? Hell he still won 6 rings. I do think Kobe and Shaq would have killed that number if they stayed together. Kobe is awesome and is no doubt a hall of famer already but when all is said and done and the money is on the line, I'm going with Jordan over Kobe. Without Jordan, Kobe would have noone to copy.

Jordan is simply the best player ever. So far I can not even see any player that can be even compared to his level. Back in the 80s when he was playing against Detroit during the playoffs they made a set a rules to defend him, THE JORDAN RULES. I don't see any Bryant Rules made.

i voted for Jordan, and i was surprised by the landslide of votes. i think that Jordan is better overall for his leadership. he was able to make everyone around him better and believe in themselves. kobe is more like a ballhog. he does, however, have skills.

for sure, he is down right the most clutch player ever. what im saying is not a knock against MJ hes my fav player of all time. But he said it him self, when you take the responsibility of taking a gaming winning shot, you enjoy the moment of victory when you makes it, but you always lives with the disappointment when you miss it. I remember him saying that what he remembers the most are some of the shots that he missed, not the ones that hes made.

Jordan was a ball hog too lol, not to mention he had an even bigger Ego than Kobe, and he was nasty in real life. talking smack all day, cussing players out and rubbing stuff in, and chewing/cussing his teamates out. thats why i like him cause hes got that nastyness and swagger and he backs it up. metaphorically speaking He will knock you down, then kick you while youre on the ground and wont stop when you beg for mercy. Thats what makes him so great.

Oh I understand your point. Thats what seperates the players from the great ones. I mean I think Jordan and Kobe have that same quality. Everyone knows now not to give Kobe a second chance to hit a game winner, his ego and competetiveness will take over and he'll probably make it. But I just think Kobe wouldn't be anywhere near the player he is without Jordan's model to follow. Jordan's the original killer, Kobe the understudy. I mean since the survey is only about the two in their primes against each other then I gotta go with Jordan. Even though I'm not sure which prime this is talking about, Jordan pre-retirement or post. He dominated both times so I dunno.
