Hey bro, sorry to hear the luck........GET A LAWYER!!! I got a Wreckless in VA and I got a lawyer, cost me $400.00. I can say The BEST $400 I ever spent. Not only did he get rid of the points, but healso got it knocked down to a Defective Equptment violation, that doesn't even get reported to the MVA. No points $200.00 fine. All in All $600.00. Yea sounds like alot, but just think what a wreckless would cost you over 3 year!

ok how else is it suppose to go down? He did speed and break the law. And it wasnt like he was only going 10-15mph over the limit. he went over 100mph along with 6 other cars. this isnt horrible. horrible, talking within car guidelines, is when you get into a accident or when someone hits your car and drives off or when some cop is being a *****. Ok this wasnt directed to the original poster cause he just asked for help and not pity. I just thought i point that out. Do what others here say. Hire a good lawyer and hope they dont say you guys were street racing.

You definitely need a lawyer who will tell you what exactly needs to be done b4 court date. Goodluck with everything, also, if you must drive during suspension, don't post on a public forum. You don't know who's trolling. Also, you should not drive the G either, b/c the chances of you running into the same folks and them recognizing is very high since there's not that many G's. just a thought, good luck

uh.. wth? is that true? the judge can sentence me for jail time at the court hearing? I got a lawyer from my cousin and I'm supposed to meet with her tomorrow about all this. I also looked into driving improvement classes, but it seems you need to be admitted into them by a judge or some "authority member" ? I know my insurance is going to hike.. scratch the MREV and the Fuji now.. bah.. btw My lawyer said she could work on an extension for my liscence to not be extended during the school year since I'm a full time student.. hope she can work that out..
Thanks for the good advice and all guys.. jeez bad month for a lot of ppl.. and to top that off.. these DAMN ALLERGIES! :X

I think so Jim, maybe Vic can chime in on the law but I recall my friend getting pulled over on a different scenario and was locked up for a day. At court hearing the judged sentenced him to a day(time served). I think whenever you are required to appear in court, anything is fair game as to the judge has whatever flexibility to issue whatever fine or sentence. Not trying to scare you though, since i'm sure with a lawyer, you'll be ok. Again, goodluck

F that....find a local lawyer to that area......they will know the judges and DA's. That will get you a better deal, and YES you are facing a midemeanor violation, which can result in a MAXIMUM of 6 months in jail(won't happen) This is serious, no joking around you need to get the right lawyer.

sorry to hear, do as the others say...
but honestly, well over 100mph for 8-10 minutes is just asking for trouble. not to say i havent hit over a 100 before but certainly not in a 55 or for any longer than a few secs let alone a solid 8-10 mins

Just be thankful noone was seriously hurt and you didnt do this in VA, in which case, you would not be able to write about it from prison... In VA, they can impound your car and imprison you over 90. And jail time would not only be possible, but probable w/out a lawyer. As Dev said, go with a local lawyer that knows the local judges and DA's.

When I was cruising in rural VA w/ 2 workmates, both of them were behind me and were stopped by a trooper. Their lawyers were able to argue that the single trooper did not have a solid case against either of them based on the faster lead car that he did not stop - of course I don't know anything about that...

Quick Update: I met with my lawyer today about my tickets and all. She was able to keep my liscence "unsuspended" until the day of the trial. When I asked her about me going to jail, she said it was highly unlikely. She told me that I would have to attend a driving improvement class too. Right now, the things she can do is very limited as everything rests on the court date. I have to drive at speed limit and keep it safe :P A little relieved now, but still worried.. damnnnnnnnnnnnn... lawyer fee + fines + driving class + boost in insurance...

just pray that you get to keep your liscense, if she can manage that and get a couple of the offense dropped or lightened, then its a great victory for you.

and I still see you shopping for the HKS exhaust .bottomless pit of money you got there..haha. I'm sure the lawyer will do her thing and you'll just have a lot of fines to pay and a yr or 2 of probation peroid.
