paddle shifters arent true clutchless manual ken so your driving skills will still suck badly.

SMG/DSG does a real good job.... I don't think infiniti's paddle shifters are going to be anywhere close to that...

infiniti's and lexus and mazda's paddle shifters are just steering wheel mounted shifter connected to the same ol automatic transmission design. theyve got nothing to do with F1 style SMG transmission used on BMW M3 and Ferraris

do you know if the IS350 can even rev-match for downshifts?

i drove it during the Lexus testdrive even at fedex field, i believe it does rev match when you down shift, however it also shift by it self even when youre in manual mode. if you rev past say 5k, the computer will force the upshift. its pretty lame.

Well the Infiniti should act just like the current AT5 when in manual mode, just with rev-matched downshifts which takes away the worst aspect to the current design.

While a 6spd auto would be nice, it also shifts a lot more often in auto mode which gets a bit annoying. (See the new 3 series w/ auto 6spd).

you can redline depending on the situation, i cant tell why the computer was upshifting automatically, but sometimes it lets you rev up and some times it dosnt. i havnt figured out why it does that since i only got to drive it hard 1 latp around the autocross course. the whole system is just real intrusive, even if you turn VDC off, it would still turn back on automatically when you drive it hard.
