It's been a year running around with 20% tints for me on a black car. In reality though, in some lighting it's not that dark. You made the right choice.

I got 20's too, been pulled once tho, with the ticket and the taking off/reapplying tints, I think I spent about 220$ all together. Anyway, unless you live in Va, (got my ticket in Va) you really shouldn't have to worry. Keeping the sunroof cover open tends to help make the tints a lil lighter due to the extra light entering the car :P

^^A VA cop gave you a tint ticket while you were in VA while your car has MD tags? Is that possible?

i dont like dark tint .. on dark cars ... dark tint looks good on brighter colors ..especially IP .... being in VA ... 35 is the max you can go ... to be on the safe side ..anything lower .. u are very likely to get pulled over..

That's a new one to me. I didn't realize VA cops can enforce MD tint laws. Did the cop pull you over just for tints as well? I thought tints were a second hand infaction and they can't pull you over "just" for tints. It has to be like a traffic violation then they can cite you for tints as well.

^^youd be surprised man...i had a lady cop tail me for 15 min, on my ***..then pacing me left lane...pacing me right lane....then swerved over thru 3 lanes of traffic to stop me to say 'your corner bulbs look a tad blue...'

i was like WTF...anyways a warning ticket and 20 min. of my life past were all that came of it...

You'll be fine with 20%. I've had 20% on my Mercedes for over a year and nothings happen. I got 10% on my G and I still don't think its dark enough lol

I agree, I thought Jim got the ticket in MD, I had no idea VA cops has any jurisdiction over MD folks regardless if they know MD rules are not. As far as I understand things, county cops got the county as their jurisdiction and state got their state. Only federal such FBI has nationwide jurisdiction. Isn't there a lawyer here? Please chime in.
