It seems that if this is going to be real, Toyota is keeping this heavily under the raydar. Their PR people are actually denying that it is even in the works according to forums. If this is true, its' pretty depressing. I am/was looking forward to getting one (V8 trim if there really is one) for my next car.
Even doing a google search, I cant find the pics terry put up a while back. All I find are those of the LF-A that people are still calling a Supra

I think its going to be a 2008 model. I saw the article on car & driver or motor trend, not sure which one exactly, but the car will come in I think three trims. I know that a convertable is in the works as well. Car looks clean. I think the prices are going to be $50k and $40k for the lower end. The convertable is going to be cheaper than the hard top.

never seen times when convertible is cheaper than hardtop...
Thanks for the info. I am glad to at least know its in the works. I truly want either an inline 6, a powerful V6, or a V8 for my next car. Whichver trim has more 'modability' of the two motors will be the one I get and im guessing that will be the V8 but I could be wrong. Their V8 is a very strong block though.
Yea, I'm not sure if the secrecy thing is the way to go. You see how Nissan/Infiniti are already pushing the GT-R, Mazda has already said that a new RX-7 is in the works, Honda has fessed up to an NSX replacement, the new cobra and evo are coming out in the near future.
People are already making wish lists; Toyota needs to start giving somethin'.

^^ aint that the truth!! preach it!!
I havent even considered the RX7 and likely wont but I Cant wait to see that puppy. I just hope they dont use the same platform the RX8 is on which they just might do.
I also cant wait to see the NSX replacement. I know I cant afford it but I have been waiting for that for years!

yeah corvette even gets slightly better EPA than the G35C's VQ35DE DOHC engine..., However, the LS2 is a large displacement 6.0 liter pushrod OHV engine! a DOHC engine at the same power output will almost always consume much more gas.
Lexus' current 4.3L DOHC V8 is making 300bhp@5600rpm and 325lb-ft of btq@3400 rpm. Its currently getting EPA of 18/25. To achieve 400hp, say lexus increase the bore/stroke to 5.0 Liters and increase the compression rate and raise the redline to around 7k rpm... I can see the EPA fuel economy taking a pretty nasty hit.
however as the E46 M3 has proven though... people who can afford such niche market limited production high end cars that cost 50k+ is not too concerned with fuel economy.
(FYI did you guys know the LS2 actually possess roughly the same physical dimensions and weight as the VQ35 in our cars while making 100 more hp?)
