I just wanted to post this due to a post i read a few weeks back.I was on my way back from Ocean City Md on rt 50 west.I'm sure a lot of you know this road .I was cruising back at about 80 mph i got caught up in traffic every one in a while ,you know Maryland drivers will not move from fast lane if they are going 55.This set up race of the day.Ok here it is .I am slowly weaving up through this little bottle neck i get stuck in the fast lane behind a car i see the mustang one car ahead .He goes over to the slow lane to past i then work my way over behind him.I then mover back to the fast lane i am only trying to get back to my crusing speed of 80 .Thats when i hear him punch it.I have my windows cracked so i can hear the exhaust.Mind you i was just going to get back to 80 and chill.So when he punched i punched .I was in fith gear believe it or not my 280 + y pipe and k+n filter walked him down and i slowly past him you should have seen the look on his and his passengers face as i past him slowly.It make me think if i had plannede to race him i woulda dropped to 4th and got a serious lanch then 5th then 6th.When i let off i had him by an easy car.So what is it aero dynamics?Who knows.Driver skill? It took about 8 seconds but when i looked up i was at 120 and let off and coasted.Sorry for the long post .Just responding to an earlier post.For all that can remember it was Dev and i who walked that M3 down on 95 going to philly.I know one of you 05 guys especially devon with the mrev cats and hks exhaust woulda ate him alive peace out.

I still dont think with only NA mods that we can take on a m3....maybe devon could...lol

 

haha Devon has apparently taken a 911 carrera .... but yeah .. stock for stock comparison ..we shouldnt be beating m3's .. unless they are a horrible driver..

 

Yeah just like I shouldnt be kicking John's Azz repeatedly compared on stock for stock, but like you said and have proven. John is a terrible driver

mrev alone is enough to put 05+ G35 on even terms with M3. those things are fast, but dont overestimate them. they only have 260lb-ft of torque. +20whp and +25-30wtq is enough to to catch up to them. at least thats the case according people who has it in the mrev thread who raced M3s.

those m3 engines are really underrated though, like most bimmer engines...I would say the mrev plus with cats and exhaust might be able to keep up...
