I know some of you against street racing..and if you dont like .. please dont read this post..... I was going down 7 in traffic ... when i see a Mitsubishi eclipse zipping through traffic.. I had no intentions of going after it... because racing in traffic is kinda pointless and very dangerous... after a while the traffic cleared up and i got a little opening .....so i downshifted to 3rd and switched lanes ..and went after the Eclipse... this is when the light turns Red .... The eclipse was the first car at the light and i was right behind it ..as there was no opening in the other lane... Light goes green .... he floors...and so do i ..... i was right on his tail all of 1st gear ...then i switched lanes .... and finally passed him towards the end of 2nd/beginning of 3rd.. the guy was nice ..gave me a thumbs up after ...and dipped.. thought i would share with u guys ....the new Eclipse is FAST! ... but we are faster

AND ALSO.... I got Pulled over again .... this has nothing to do with the race... this is near the falls church... im just going like 45mph on a 40mph zone ... a cop going the other direction, pulls a U and gets right behind me and turns on his lights.... at this point .. im thinkin ...FAWK! this is it (another ticket, and license is GONE) .. then the guy walks up and asks me why i was flooring the car and driving aggressive... he said ... he heard me all the way down the street etc. etc... making some bs up... i wanted to tell him ..dude i wasnt even stepping on it .. but i decided to shut up, which worked.... he let me off with a warning.....phewwww.... so i drove home tonite at speed limit.... close call...

good kill i guess...... eclipse is not anywhere near our caliber........ lucky on the ticket...... just keep and eye out and buy a radar detector........

 

yeah ... but the new eclipse apparently have similar 0-60 and 1/4mile times than us on paper... i always wanted to find out how fast they really were... im thinkin of gettin a radar detector..

wow, you were lucky enough to spot one of them rare species. Mitsu really dropped the ball big time on the eclipse. I think it was suppose to get them back in the game but i think they sold like 2 of them suckers. I rarely ever see them. Really suprised mitsu can stay competitive other than the Evo, but that makes up for such small percentage of their sales.

Really? I see them all over in my area. I see at least one every time i go out. Now in my area the EVO is the rare species. Most around here have the WRX or STI. G35 coupe is rare in my area as well. Everyone has the sedan. I think there is only 2-3 other coupes that I have seen around here.

 

Yeah .... we hardly see the new Eclipse here ... we see a lot of G coupes now though ... everytime i go out somewhere .. i see atleast 3-5 G's

 

nice nice, I just went at it with a 04 accord coupe v6, 6MT. We went from a 60 mph roll, I kept it in 3rd gear and he had a lil jump, but w/e.. we were dead even til the end of my 4th, when I started pulling slightly, then we shut down. Those cars are under - rated IMO. Besides his rims and body work, he had intake and exhaust.

on a side note, I HATE VA cops. I went down there one time (not in VA often unless I'm shopping at tysons or neiman marcus) This ONE TIME after a few months of being no where close to VA, I get pulled over on route 7 and get ticketed for tints.. bastardssssssssssss

 

dude how about the time we got busted doing donuts in the NOVA parking lot .. haha .. that was pretty lucky...
