Even though my G is an automatic stock, it's a pretty fast car, but the other night I was at a light on Landover Rd. and a orange neon pulls up next 2 me. So he revs up and I rev up, the light turns green and then we're off. I was neck and neck for like 2 seconds, and then this bastard pulls of with ease. I was like what the **** just happened??? a Got-Damn neon just whupped the pants off of me. And my best friend said the same neon that I told him about beat him on branch ave. two nights after me and he has a six speed G. That neon must have some major work done cuz dat s*** is ridiculous

 

Well dude, at the end of the day the guy still drives a neon... We could like buy 2 of those cars instead of one G... Not only that, but I think chicks definately dig the G way more than the Peon!

 

There is a neon that is modified.So it may be possible he did a little extra and whupped up on you.It is like the evo and the wrx.I don't this as powerfull but it will run if the driver is pretty good.It is also much much lighter.

 

No offense, but why does everyone say this?? The car is what it is, and on the bright side of that it is fast as shiznit. I respect the car and if I get beat by one, I am not gonna have a fit over it. The car is a lighter turbocharged 4 banger that is easy to mod. Dont get too upset you lost.

 

For real, go TT your G and have a rematch.

 

Its an opinion Mr. Blaine... some people just don't like the Neon ... they are pretty crappy cars .... in a lot of ways ... but yeah i gotta admitt .. they are fast ....
we can beat a neon, just make sure u dont go off the line .. and off a 30+ mph roll .... you'll have a better chance..

 

the SRT-4 is not a crappy car... i've test drove one... and it's got a lot of nice stuff... although some of the stuff isn't the "highest" quality but its def. not "crappy."

 

The Neon is faster stock to stock.

lol.. what are you thinking racing a SRT-4?? haha, they're so under rated, they can easily go 12 seconds with not even much money. Their trannies are weak, but thats a quick fix. Stock I think they run mid to high 13's, its really not all the weird to see them beat EVO's and STI's. They have a lot of parts out there for those cars, gotta watch out for them.

IMO, they are great cars in terms of performance... but looks and quality they're a POS.. WTF is with the manual windows in the back seats?? "save weight" haha

 

I agree end of the day its still a POS neon. I had one for 30 days as a rental, worst POS car I ever drove. Car seems like its jacked up in the air, the *** is all high, handlings terrible. and its just plain old FUGLY. I can take any POS car and make it faster than a ferrari, but does that mean its a better??

 

even in stock form its a drivers race with slight advantage to us at the top end, but its really pretty even... and they are so cheap to mod, 90% of them arnt stock, so yeah.... respect them

 

dude did you have a neon...or an SRT 4? Its a big leap between the two...

 

SRT-4 is pretty quick stock. But they aren't a good car as some people lead you to believe. Basically they turbo'd a Neon and that's it. God help you if you have to stop. They beefed the engine but pretty much left everything sub-par. IMO, it's a typical ricer car. "Lets beef up the engine, but leave everything alone." Now you have even crappier braking and can't handle worth a damn.

Don't get me wrong, they are quick and I'm not putting them down in that aspect. I just think they are unsafe. Quick they are, safty among other aspects have a lot to be desired.
