How about doing this for the clearance strips??
Pissed my Matrix LED's went out. Seems like the latest thing is the CCFL tubes:

I think I'll go ahead and order them.

Seem like it way too much work for the sake of the clearance strip. I'm sure you can go non-LED and get a similar LED looks. I think the CCFL tube is almost too bright. I want my HID to be the only thing bling blinging. Just a thought.

My matrix bulbs went out weeks ago. those are some cheap *** bulbs man, but it seems that all of us that had problems had the same bulbs.
The LED's I have in my doors are from a company called Varad. they have worked wonderfully for me going on 5 months now. I ordered the appropriate bulb for the sidemarkers and clearance trip from this company off of cardomain.com and I have blind faith in these bulbs. They are slated to arrive at my door next monday. (shipped from Washington) I will let you know how these turn out.

I dont trust piaa all that much either. my hyperwhite or whatever they were called bulbs paint chipped within a month or two. LEDS may be a different story but we will see. these varads werent cheap. they are 11 bucks a pair.
That's a great DIY but the CCFL is a little on the bright side. I wouldn't mind a white/slightly blue even light strip. I think there's a thing called EL light strips that might do the trick and be less bright. I'll see if I can find a link and post it up.
