Thanks to everyone that came out to volunteer/donate

All,

There's times that we don't always get along. Times that we may fight about stupid petty **** and there are times like tonight where we all come together and do something good for the community.

I thought this would be an event where we can really feel good about ourselves. For those that made it, I sincerely say thank you for everything that was done. We raised over 420 lbs. of food for the needy.

The lady (Deborah, the crazy one) had pulled me aside before we started sorting the food and mentioned that the total was one of the highest ever for a group coming in. That is really something we should all be proud of. I think we all went above and beyond what we needed to do. Aside from the happy hours, the drives, the meets that we have, I really think we can look to what we did tonight and be proud of ourselves - not only those that came to help out but also those that just donated and couldn't make it out.

Thanks again for making this the best G35 group around.

-Pratik

Pratik,
Good Morning! What a marvelous group you brought to volunteer last night!! I really enjoyed meeting and working with everyone.
I could not believe my eyes as the bags of cereal and peanut butter started coming out of everyone’s cars. You all really stepped up to the “288” challenge – wow over 420 pounds of food. Rather amazing when you think how light cereal really is. I even heard someone mention a co-worker who donated to the cause.
Please thank the group for their wonderful donation and all their hard work. Bill was pleased to have help unloading his truck – a luxury he never has. Everyone seemed to enjoy the sorting – once we figured it out….it was great to see that empty bin.
Thank you so much!! If you all decide you would like another night of food sorting – let me know. There are other Monday evenings available – and maybe I will not charge an admission price of cereal and peanut butter…or maybe I will J
It was a pleasure meeting you and thank you for helping to make a difference in the lives of others, Deborah
P.S. I hope you found a more interesting place to go last night than our parking lot J

Good food is debatable I think that can of Aunt Sylvia's green beans scared me too much. Well if the end of the world ever occurs a la Day of the Dead and Resident Evil I know where I'm going to go looting for food.

It was good seeing you all...maybe next time we meet I'll have the G with me.

^^ I would be up for it... but not on months like December or January when the budget is low. Maybe we can donate our time once a month... and raise the food drive twice a year? I definitely felt good helping out and would like to do it again.

Lek and Puria, aside from just donating goods - I feel like not everyone can always contribute, I think donating our time is the most important thing. I'm trying to setup something with a soup kitchen currently however those are popular to volunteer at and have to do it way in advance. Maybe set up something a couple months from now and we can do that on a regular basis. Of course, we can still go back to Manna on a monday evening like we did and just sort the food and not necessarily donate.
