Im talking over IM with this dude that lives in Japan, he has some more info. some of which is already mentioend in the main forum.

He said a lot of major japanese magazines have been reporting that inside info suggest the engine will be 3.7 liter V6. However. this is not a bored/stroked out version of the VQ35. This is a new V6 engine thats fundamentally different from the VQ series. It will have DFI like the lexus IS350 engine which allows that car to get much better fuel economy than our car even though it has more hp.

The engine designation will be VZ37.

Theres also further speculation in magazines that a retuned version of the 4.5l V8 might be an engine option. This is not a new engine, but a retuned version of the 4.5l V8 in the M45 sedan, So we might have G37 and G45 like how we have M35 and M45. - this seems to be a less concrete rumor stemed from the news a while back where Infiniti has requested Nissan to make the 4.5l V8 available as an engine option. This was reported by www.Nissannews.com a while ago.

the 4.5 V8 makes 350 hp am I correct?? if the 3.7 puts out around 330, the price jump wont be worth it to me unless the modability of the car jumps spectacularly. Both blocks are aluminum head right?

if they do have a v8 option im pretty sure its going to be retuned, theres plenty of room to raise the compression ratio and raise the redline, 400hp should be very possible. thats if they have a v8 option.
