They won't release the pics of the murders because they are so graphic, who cares what he has done to try and make up for it. My kids won't be reading his childrens books. Fuc* him

true about who cares what he's done in the past to "make up" for what he did... but i'm sure his books will effect kids in the future in a possitive way. i know growing up as a kid i was rebellious and didn't listen to my parents. maybe i didn't listen to them because they didn't have experience in what i was dealing with. it's like music... some kids can listen to a rap song and be like... wow ... i totally understand what this person is trying to say. But if he had killed somone in my fams i'd want him to die as well.

hes not a mandslaugher, hes a cold blooded murderer. Kill him because it cost over $100k to keep him alive for decades, save the money on something worthwhile, like 50 thousand dollar toilet seats.

The appeals process for the death penalty costs millions. More than to have just locked him up for life.

edit: I probably favor earning a lesser punishment, but I don't think there was anything this guy could've done to balance out his evil. How many kids thinking about joining gangs consult thier local library for the latest book by Tookie?

Although I do also have issues with the amount of money that it costs to keep prisoners alive, we can't just kill all of them. Yes I know that he was slated to die, but I don't think finance should be the reason.
The purpose of prison is to rehabilitate. If there was no chance in that we'd just execute everyone up front, save alot of money. (Crime would probably be less too).
Tookie actually does appear to be reformed man. Yes I agree that, that does not bring people back from the dead, but neither does his execution. He is currently bringing positive things to the world, which I think is a plus. Of course I doubt that he will be pardoned; so may he live as a marter. Maybe in his death his message can still go on.

Well, they have denied him clemency, so its over. The question i ask is would he have written those books if he was not on death row? And furthermore, of course he is sorry that he killed those people, look where it has landed him; who wouldn't be sorry? But just becuase hes sorry and wrote some anti-gang books doesnt all of the sudden mean that killing those people can be justified. Justice should and will be served.

Kill four people = you die.

And particularly in this situation when he killed four very innocent people.

Flush the Dookie.

Too bad we don't have anymore deserted islands to leave them all on. We need to find a planet to colonize simply for the purpose of imprisoning people like this!
England tried that once, hence Australia.
You shoudn't be judging him for crimes commeted by the Crips that were out of his direct control. People have to be accountable for their own grimes. He's paying for his, let them pay for theirs.
If he truely controlled there every action, they'd probably be a humanitarian organization by now.
If he hadn't started the Crips, many of those people would have probably joined or started some other gang.
