Bleh.

I'm so sick of the thunderbird, pt cruiser, ssr, hhr, beetle retro crap(though I really did like the prowler). And now this. Saw it earlier this week on a local board. I read somewhere else there was speculation that it wouldn't have a live rear axle???

Honestly, GM doesn't really need the camaro anymore. They already have the GTO, and it lines up perfectly in that spot. IMO, what the the american market is missing is a lightweight rwd car, like the S2000. Now if GM could get over it's love affair with combining small v8's with FWD sedans, they'd have a hit.

Back to topic, I would have greatly preferred some kind of edgy new style to a "look at me, I'm retro too" style. Love 'em or hate 'em, the new edgy styling of the caddy lineup is unique.

I second the fugliness. And now we know why GM will go down the tube. Power is nothing without style.

I also like it. I can appreciate the camaro series especially if it falls in the 20k price range like its predecessors.

probably 200-240hp 3.9L OHV V6 in the Pontiac G6 for the base model
and the 350hp 5.7L LS1 V8 in the SS model, or a 350hp detuned 6.0L LS2 V8.
the Charger and Stang and Magnum are starting to look alike to me, then we are going to have the Camaro and the Challenge. This retro muscle car thing is getting overplayed and the market for it is about to be over saturated.
Im affraid this camaro dosnt really stand out from the crowd to me.

I can somewhat understand where you are coming from dealing with the retro market. My main argument for the car is that it isnt a copy and paste from the past but yet taking cues from it and using it slightly. I think this car looks strong and as the market had shown the mustang vs the camaro before, I would most definitely pick the camaro in that market this time around.

Im all for it.

I see a gorgeous car that GM should build. Its amazing it takes a company like Ford to have success with the mustang to make GM make a move. To late in my opinion. Get some ***** GM. Also is it me or do you see independent reaerend?

yeah, seems like its not a single live rear axel, i dont know what platform this is... it think its a brand new platform from GM. but if it has individual multilink or double wish bone suspension this car might turn out to be a pretty good performer. not that it matters though, 90% of sales will probably be generated by the none SS version to people that dosnt really care about performance. out of all the muscle cars, i think i do like this concept the best.
