Winter weather worries
Winter weather worries
I was talking to a friend of mine who drives a Z and he told me don't bother going to work when it snows because the car is all over the place. The only rear wheel car I've driven in snow is a 1978 Malibu and I remember that to be pretty bad. What are some of your experiences in the snow?

20 miles an hour was 2 fast for me i had to go in 3rd gear all the way home. i went side ways a few times. not fun at all expecially when the truck are flying by you what made it worse was the damn evo that flew by me i could hear his turbo. im pretty sure he past me fast on purpose and was laughing at me.
Were you guys on stock summer/all season tires or did you switch out to snow tires while having these horrible results? I've read on the Bmw forums that many of them have no troubles with winter tires on their rear wheel drive cars.
i've only had summer tires... I'm gonna go with xnow tires this year because I know better now. I've heard too many good things about snow tires and I'm tired of getting high blood pressure when they call for flurries. LOL HAHA

man.. on saturday night when it "snowed" like a millimeter, I busted a 360 on 95 South. I was driving at 40-45 mph in 5th gear alone with the rest of traffic... Luckily I was already in the left lane and only fell to the median and didn't hit anyone. I took my car to the shop to check for damages, just a few scratches on the driver side door and the bottom.. thank goodness :P

That sucks, I was driving while it was snowing and afterward and did not have any problem. Were you changing lanes? cuz I would imagine it would be hard to spin out with barely anything sticking unless there was some sudden change in momentum. Glad you weren't hurt now give me back my walkie talkie!!

Damn...that's nuts bro. ALthough that night at home it sounded more like sleet hitting my window. You sure it wasn't a snow sleet mix?

No he is right,This isn't a snow mobile. This shouldn't be your only means of transportation. You should have another car. It's like driving a vette in the snow.
