What is a good 5.1 - 7.1 reciever to get under 400??

bose home is not much better than in our cars. dont get it.
if you're just looking for a receiver for that price i'd look at onkyo, pioneer and harmon kardon. check out tweeters open box receivers if you have one around you...
yes speaker wire does matter...but for your price range i wouldnt worry about it.
