Dyno!!
Dyno!!
Ok, to make this totally legit about the new MREV part I am going to be Dynoing my car tommorrow at 1 pm. It is a DynoJet system and I am getting 3 runs for $125. I will get a base line of what my car is putting to the wheels, then next week after I install the part, I will again pay another $125 and get a second round of pulls to show the gains of the new MREV part. The company that will be doing the Dyno is Turbo Performance Center out of Jessup MD. They mainly work on Porsches and they build and race for Team Porsche.
I know you guys are already going to ask if I can try and set up a day for Dyno Day, Too bad they won't let us. They say they use the Dyno mainly for R&D for their Porsches and they don't mind making a buck here and there, but that is not the purpose of having their Dyno. He told me he didn't mind doing one here or there, but NO to a bunch of cars. He says all it will do is age his Dyno and cause inaccurate results.
If any of you would like to chip in for my Dyno pulls you are more then welcome too. Wish me luck!!!

I used to work at the Burger King right next door to Turbo. They always got crazy Porshes in the garage. I never knew they had a Dyno there. There another Dyno shop down route 1 at Extreme Motorsport right before you reach rt. 32 going southbound. They might be interested in setting up a dyno day since they cater more towards the imports. Goodluck with the dyno, I'd love to come tomorrow since it not too far from me, but I got work

ill chip in some dough, not a lot though im just a poor *** college student trying to pay off his ride and insurance and gas etc. anywho theres already dyno charts floating around, im honestly more interested in seeing some 1/4 slips devon. thatd mean a lot more than dyno charts. IMO.
Yea, unfortunatley that's what we get to deal with here on the east side. I think there is a total of 3-4 dyno's in all of MD. When we ask price we always bring our vasoline!!......lol
To hell with that, the Bimmer guys are having a dyno day in Cockeysville, MD at Agile Auto on Saturday. A guy from my club was good friends with the owner and set up a good meet there last year.
Price is $65 w/free hot dogs, I don't know how many pulls though.

OK so here is my Base run results...not what I was hopeing for, but it is a Base line. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE MREV!

The 1st run had the most Torque. Last run had most HP. Go figure, he said it was because I never drive my car from 2000 rpm to redline so the computer never learned this. SO you can actually see how the computer corrected itself by leaning out a little.
I have scheduled my run next Friday to see if there is any inprovment after I install the MREV. Friday 3:30 pm the results will be known.
ANd for you math nuts....That's 21% less then what Nissan rates these engines. So you lose 21% to parasitic drag.

Devon i believe its anywhere from 15-20% power loss..... so you are within the range, every car differs.... but that is some low number with the mods that you have... but i guess your expert driving skills makes up for that
Most likely, its probably how the dyno machine is calibrated.
There is huge variability from dyno to dyno. Not much can be done about it. And in a way, its not really too important in relative terms.
Once you get your own dyno results, the only way to know where you stand, is to see how other similar vehicles run on that same dyno.
EDIT: And yes, every car differs, but from what I've seen on the REVUP engine, they are pretty darn consistant. +/- 5HP when measured on the same machine.
