Unhappy A good weekend turned bad...

Well my first saturday off and so My girlfriend and I decide were going to go up to the mall do a little shopping/looking around. We make it about 5 mins from my house and we end up in traffic. So I decide to whip a U-ie and go the backroads and come out farther up from the construction thats causing the traffic. As I'm making my u-turn, the rear end comes around and so I correct but I over correct and now the rear end is coming around on my side. So then the car finally ends up staright but headed for a small ditch on the side of the road. We plow right into it and now my front bumper is messed up. And out of all the people sitting in traffic only one person (ironically a nurse) pulls over to see if we're OK. Thankfully no one else was involved and no one got hurt.

Cliff notes: Got into a one car accident and messed up the front bumper of my coupe cuz VDC sucks and never kicked on.

But hey on the bright side I'm now in the market for a front bumper so if anyone knows where I can find a good price on one, aftermarket or stock (preferably aftermarket b/c its probably cheaper), let me know.

On to the pics:

Tore off the passenger side of my front lip

passenger side of the bumper is broken too

It kinda tore everything off on the passenger side

the lip still hanging off

front lip removed; can kinda see where it dented the bumper in (i already popped it back out)

and now my car is ghetto fabulous for the time being

Ironically is this is the same exact place where I had my accident which totalled my 300zx.

Ouch...sorry to hear about the accident...I had a flat tire and it ruined my weekend but nothing compared to your incident.

I'm just curious...do you know why your rear slipped out when you made u-turn? Loose gravel or too fast, etc? The reason I ask is that there is a u-turn that I make everytime when I visit my friend in Bethedsa where I accelerate out of the u-turn and I have my rear kinda slide...I first noticed that my rear slid and for the first time, I saw my slip light come on. It felt kinda interesting cause this is my first rwd car and I've heard but never actually experienced the rear-end sliding. But, hearing this incident, I'm kinda wondering whether I should risk doing that.

yea sucks about your flat tire. same thing happened to my original tires as well but fortunately it was just a nail and was repairable.

I know i accelerated a little too fast but it was more loose gravel than anything and unfortunately the VDC never kicked in for some reason.

Glad that you're okay. The bumper isn't can be replaced easily. Luckily there's no other damage.

Jesus.
Theyre a pretty good tire. Had them for about 5000 miles now on with horrible negative camber and theyre still showing no signs of wear. They feel a little stickier than the stock Michelins and are definately better in the rain.

I justed added some carbon fiber to my G, so I have a set of factory bumpers. And they just happen to be the same color. I would be willing to let you use my factory bumper till you got a replacement.

also glad to hear thats the only damage.
