executive decisions? ... i am not making any executive decisions. Yeah it is the National G Club, but we are all here because we are car enthusiasts, if some member wants to bring a friend along with a different type of car, i dont see why we have to have an objection to that...

let me help you there john... basically that person was me, my friend Charles has a Z06 and wanted to come to skyline. Pratik and John thought it was a bad Idea. I felt that it was messed up at first. I mean Im a member of the club just like anyone else and we are just a group of friends trying to go out and have some fun. Whats wrong with having another car there ya know? its all in the name of fun. Its **** to just turn it down because he dosnt have a G right? after all the object of the trip is to have fun right? its not like he wants to join the club or something.

well they explained their reason to me and I felt like they have a point and I respect that. basically they are trying to organize this event and its not a easy thing to do, especially when we have like 30 cars going. Thats a lot of cars, and the more cars the more chance something will go wrong. All it takes is like 1 person to goof off and next thing you know everyone might get pulled over. and during the last skyline drive people did get pulled over. If I bring my friend Charles who has a Z06 then I might want to bring my friend Jeff who has a 03 Cobra and my boy Nando who has a M3, next thing you know if everyone starts to invite another car or 2 or more, we suddently have an unmanageable large group. The chance of something going wrong and complications to take place increase astronomically. Also then this wouldnt be the national G club anymore, but more like a generic club.

so in conclusion, personally i dont think theres any harm in bringing another car, since my friend has no intention of joining the national G club, he just wants to have some fun. I dont see a lot of harm if it ends up just being a few different cars thats not Gs riding along with us and they are cool folks who dosnt drive crazy like puria and devon. But at the same time I just got to respect the people whose putting this thing togeher and have to go through the trouble of organizing all these cars and all these people. which is no easy task. I think everyone should understand where Pratik and clokwork is coming from regarding this issue and respect that and they dont mean any disrespect to us members who wants to bring other people. they just want to try their best to minimize possible incidents and problems

Theres plenty of other times where we can go ride with our friends.

np john, i feel what you mean Arjun and the frustration but they have good reasons to limit it to Gs and Zs.

no frustration Terry, i just thought it was upright wrong to say no to some one who may be interested in coming to one of our meets... i do understand where John is coming from, but no one has to personally feel responsible for every individual that is coming to the drive.. what about the other clubs who have 60+ cars show up to their meets and go for drives.. Skyline is meant to be safe, we aren't going to race, but to take pictures of our cars with scenic views of the beautiful mountains and stuff... from what your sayign, it is not matter of what car they drive, it is a matter of the number of people that will show up..... our club has only get bigger and bigger from the time we started earlier this year ... and its going to get bigger.... i'm not trying to prove anything here ..but just saying that maybe we should all just take it easy and enjoy our club, instead of getting worried about incidents that may occur in the future, we are all mature adults (except for me maybe!?) and we can handle ourselves .. we dont need people to look after us...

i feel ya arjun, we are all core members of the club and we should all have a say in this. i told my friend to not come out of respect for pratik and john, i mean they do have legitimate reasons. I dont totally agree with them but gotta respect them since they are the ones putting forth the effort to make it all work.

i know pratik is totally open to any ideas, so maybe we can all talk about this and see how everyone else feels about this too. the more input the better. theres a lot of pros and cons involved... but till then i gotta stand by pratik and john on this issue and respect their points

Echoing the sentiments mentioned above - let's play by the organizers' rules for this event. If someone want to initiate a "more open" event in the future, they're more than welcome to take the lead with that. It is not cool for anyone to change an event's vision / rules at the last minute if they have not played a role in it until the very end, i.e., if someone generously offers to throw a bbq for the club and then a silent member shows with his/her posse... Actually the latter possibility wouldn't be too bad

i agree for the most part with whats said..the only part i dont agree with is the people who did NOT organize this meet/drive trying to dictate what happens, who goes and where they go...thats something i def. do not agree with...thats like me organizing a beach drive and inviting the G club then the G club telling me i cant bring my friends....sorry...
