NationalGClub: Lets go to the TRACK!

In our last bbq event, wnt1bd (devon) a.k.a Grand pa mentioned something about having a "Track" meet. I thought that was an awesome idea. He also said that if we could get 20+ G's then they would close the Track for the club... so i was wondering who would be interested in this. add your name to the list if your interested ... and if we get enough people ... i'll get prez pratik and grand pa to get this together for us.

No offense to the drag racers in the club, but I'd rather run at Blueridge Mountain Rd. I went on Sat., and had a blast! Drove it at 60 because there was a car that honked his horn as he drove by me just as I started my run, and I thought he might have been warning of a cop or other perilous road condition. Nevertheless, it was a great time... running it without stepping on the brakes, and only downshifting to power out of corners...

blue mountain rd is one good road. I'm probably gonna head up there one of these weekends when it's colder out there's less cars.

Vic, we can always do a Blue Ridge Mountain... but going to the track and having the track closed down for the club woulld be cool ... it will be fun to find out what kind of times we can pull off with our rides.

Arjunz, I hear what you're saying, and I'm sure those that go on the strip often will prob. disagree with me, but I guess I have equated 1/4 mile times as more of an academic matter, i.e., under ideal circumstances, a car should hit x, according to magazines... I don't wanna feel bad just cuz I sorta came close to x, with unknown variables of environmental conditions coupled with holding back due to not wanting to fry my clutch... I derive alot more pleasure from my car not by being able to say I went x mph, but rather by driving it and balancing many different acceleration, braking, shifting, and turning inputs in one run... And that's not to say that you need to drive at 100% and smell all sorts of burnt smells to enjoy the car. A very nice rev match can be extremely gratifying. By no means do I look down on 1/4's, its just not my thing.
