I am interested in purchasing a phone for cingular for my mom. I wanted to know if anyone here has a 'hookup' or idea if they can get a cingular phone new/used (been looking at getting her a Razr) from cingular! Please shoot me a price or let me know if you cant get this phone or another phone (under cingular) for a decent price. Im open to offers!! My mom currently has a contract with cingular hence why i'm looking to stick w/ cingular!!

Is that only when you open a new account? Or can you get it pretty much for free if you're already with cingular?

 

When you open a new account. it is through Cingular though..

Yeah i ordered through amazon, got the phone in 2 days. Same deal 150 and 150 rebate. Tigerdirect.com was giving away a free bluetooth headset wtih the phone as well from what i remember.

Just a heads up - if you get the RAZR, GET THE INSURANCE. You'll regret it if you don't. BTW, if you're signing up for a new contract you can get the phone for free I'm sure. However, as for me and Verizon, I ALWAYS buy in the store. I know I'm paying more but if I ever have a problem with the phone they'll swap it out and I haven't even paid for the insurance. Reason is all phones comes with a one year manufacturer warranty. In fact I just got a new one even after a year because the reps are pretty cool at my store. I just tell them my phone doesnt work and they'll swap it out no questions asked. I'm on my 4th Moto V710 right now and have had the phone for around 15 months now.

Dropped it on concrete for new years, spilled beer on it, then dropped it in a bathroom stall... Yeah go figure I was drunk everytime.

 

i think im confused. im tryin to avoid signing a new contract and this wouldnt be a new activation. looking at amazon, the 2 rebates they give you of $150 are both for new activation/new contracts.... when i add it to cart, its $300 and no rebates!!

If you're not renewing your contract, or signing up for a new contract you'll have to pay retail price for the phone if you go through vendors (which will probably be around $400). I'd check www.howardforums.com and ebay even for new/used phones people are selling. All you'd have to do then is just get the phone and put in your sim card and be done with it! you can IM me if you got questions.

 

I purchased two RAZRs from amazon. Im not sure why you are getting 300 in checkout.

Rebates apply for a NEW line with TWO year contract. If you MIGRATE your current cell # to your new account, you lose the rebate (but still 150 for a 300$ phone is cheap). The other phone (for my brother), will have remain with the newly created number. That means, ill get the rebate for that one. In other words, I got 2 V3 RAZR for 150.
