Diy Day II (Devons Installs 4 You)

Ok so here's a few pics of Brians install of his Y pipe.
First is the stock pipe....

Here's the ugly POS stock Y.....

What a difference between the 2 pipes.....

Can't tell to much in this pic, but the holes are much larger in the UT pipe....

and here's the almost completed job....

Good job Brian, hope you like it! There were other installs such as Patricks new headlight bulbs that almost look purple, and I reinstalled the 3/8 spacer with the IsoThermal Kit.

How much larger is larger? Your flow rate is based off hyrdaulic dyameter ( vs actual diamter). Hyrdraulic diameter is a function of diameter but its not an even ratio.

It does look perty though.

I don't know about the flow rate but the pipes are a little bigger .The sound is different .Its a little deeper .It also breathes better.I Have noticed that it revs up faster too. Thanks Devon for the help.We will do it next time my place with some food on the pit .Thanks Elau for having us .

Im not sure if it was just me but your car did sound a louder/deeper when you were driving off.

As far as airflow, I think its also a combination of the larger mouth and now you have 2 pipes leading back to the tail instead of just the 1.

Also, thanks Devon for the help with the bulbs! I just checked it out while its dark outside, they look great! Its kinda weird tho as theyre more white at night then when we were looking at them during the day. Not sure if its the burnin period or thats how theyre going to look. Which is fine with me as I dont need to be hassled by the police for having purple headlights.

Are they illegal because they're purple, or are they THAT much brighter?

I dont think theyll mind the brightness. The stock HID's are pretty bright as they are. I was worried about the lavender color. I checked it again today, same thing. during the day they looks lavender'ish and at night theyre pretty white.

Hey, so are you just doing the spacer claude? I think Hydrazine posted that if you order the 5/16" spacer you can also get the thermo kit now. He makes a couple posts about it on here: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60754

Im definetly going to get the thermal spacer to add with my 3/8". May wait for the GB 1st tho since thats how I got the spacer.

Yeah, my spacer will come with the IT kit.

If there is gonna be a DIY Day III, I'm not sure where we will install. Brian mentioned having something at his place, but no dates were tossed around. Otherwise, I will just do mine in my garage.
