Has anyone tried to actually color the smart tag itself? I hate driving around with that big white square in the window. I know it pulls off rather easily but I use it alot so thats alot of removing and putting back on.

I was thinking about coloring it black but I can see 2 possible problems with that:

1) It may interfere with the sensors reading it (tho Im doubting it)
2) Im guessing these have to be returned? If so they may be a little upset.

Yeah the transponder is property of SmartTag so you cannot alter it at all. I've had mine forever now and I was ecstatic when SmartTag and EZ Pass joined forces. Now my trips to NY are a breeze.

And, yes you can go to the SmartTag office in Reston and fill out a short application and pay and walk out with your transponder right away. Or do like me and have it linked to your credit card and it will automatically replenish once it reaches a certain level.

SmartTag's are also like a mod...it'll help you win a race..
