Humming noise/Alignment Issues

This subject is currently being discussed in the coupe forum. Since we're tooo cool for them.. LOL I thought we might discuss it here. I have this same humming problem. I mean I've learned to just ignore it but it's gotten really bad. I think it's due to the tire feathering. The tire feathers from the aggressive alignment out of the factory. I feel that if I change the tires and get it aligned again it should get quieter or go away. What about you guys? Any have this issue? The 05 guys have this issue?

Haven't had this issue but its gotta be either the tires, alignment or both. How many miles do you have on your tires already?

I'd suggest if you can wait on the tires, just get an alignment. If you're still getting the sound then get some new tires and see what that does for you. I'd think it would fix the problem.

Man how much wear do you have on those tires?? Its prob. time to get some new ones and then get the alignment at Chantilly. Chances are your humming will be gone.

I was gonna say he should have his tires dismounted and swapped side to side, but not worth it given the age of Lek's tires... and with recent overall G bad luck, the rims would probably be scraped in the process.

As for camber kits, you do know there ain't much adjustment for the front alignment on our cars, right?

As for smoking, haven't had one in about 2 weeks, but I did have some sake last night - check out Mikaku in chantilly for some good fish!

good luck w/ an alignment - I really hope it solves your issue, but my point was that there is limited room for adjustment, and if your specs are too far-off, you'll need a camber kit.

I was told by JBA that alignment is covered for 12 months/12K miles. I missed it by 8 days, had to pay $108 and change for the alignment.
