Any Summit Point Track Day info?!?!

Has anyone ever done one or know about it?!?! We went and watched the WERA motorcycle races this weekend, and now I am dieing to get out there with the G. I am just not to sure about when you can do it, and what kind of track mods are required to be able to do so. I looked at there website but didnt really find any useful information. I am going to be laid up for a while, and dont know when I would be able to do it, but I would like to figure it out for when I will be able to...

Would anyone else be interested in see what they could do with their G on the track?

What do you mean, like trying to get the whole track day for just the G/Z guys???

They have what they call FATT (friday at the track) it doesnt sound like a bad deal, its like $225. You have to have an instructor in the car with you at first and you have to have equal protection for the driver and passenger, so if you have a harness for the drivers seat, you have to have it for the passenger too. I dont think you need any mods etc etc...

I will be sure to post when/if I get around to doing it. I would be a couple of months or so- as you know from the other thread, surgery is fast approaching, so, itll be a while before in any shape to be doing it. Would be sweet as hell though!

you dont need a license bro, just show up race. You get pratice run and competition run. There's going to be a Redline Time Attack event at summit in sept 29-30. It's going to be big. Watch out for bad @ss evos out there. DTM will be there kicking @ss.

What do you mean that you dont need a license? Do you have to have previous experience before the event that your speaking of? I think I would rather get some track practice time before going out there and throwing my new ride into a competitive race. That might be a little too soon for me anyways.

They are not going to throw you out there. You will have a driving class and after the class. You will ride with the instructor to feel the track. Then, when your comfortable, you can ride on your own. You dont have to race, just drive normal and feel the track. Whenever you're ready to hit it, just hit it.

HokieSean - I'm guessing you were watching the WERA race at Summit Point Main circuit this weekend. We were at Shenandoah Circuit right next door, running a track event with the Mercedes Club of DC. I was running my G coupe there, tons of fun..but was crazy hot!!

I regularly do track events at Summit (Main or Shenandoah), and will be doing my next event Aug25/26 with NASA at Summit Main. There are plenty of clubs that organize great events there, it is a LOT of fun.

Check out www.trackdaze.com ... these guys put out a great, safe event..and they have one coming up in Oct.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I saw some cars on the Shenandoah circuit when we came in, I noticed what looked like a Shelby Cobra kit car, looked like fun!
