Hey guys. Just bought a G sedan and living in the NOVA area. I want to get my windows tinted, but hate the thought of have 50% front and 35% back (VA law). I want to go 35% front-side, back-side, and rear.

My question is for any of you that have "illegal" tints (less than 50% front side windows). Are you guys ever harassed by the cops because of that? I would like to get 35 all around, but not at the expense of being constantly pulled over and getting tickets.

 

you just got to step up to the plate, cops going to be cops. just know where there around to roll your windows down. even in the RAIN LOL

 

I have 35% all the way around on my coupe and have never had a problem. But I live in Baltimore. Everyone else says that CP, Rockville, Fairfax cops etc. are d!cks and could give you some grief. I'd just go with whatever you think looks good.

 

You dont get harassed by cops. However you will get tint tickets and the fines are $30 plus a $57 processing fee each time. You dont have to fix it if you dont want too.

I have 38% all around and live in NOVA and I drive w/ my windows down most of the time anyway, but I have gotten 2 tint tickets since I have put them on there and they have both been in FFX county. The other counties I dont think care as much.

 

35% is legal limit in MD.

 

FFX county will bust your stones over anything. They will pull you over for just tint and give you a ticket. Just be nice and pay the ticket. It's about 85 bucks and no points.

True...

but the problems becomes what they find after they pull you over for lame things like tint. Maybe you've been drinkin a little, or maybe there's a dead hooker in the turnk, etc etc...ya feel me

 

30% Tint all around.. for almost 3 years now.. never got harassed or ticketed!

 

How long have you had your tint?

I live in Prince William but I work in and spend a lot of time in FFX county. If you got 2 tint tickets in several years, that may be ok. But not if you got 2 in several months. I don't want to have to shell out $87 that regulary .

 

Man. Just when I was about to chicken out and just stay legal! That's encouraging .

 

I have had my tint for over 2 years. When I got my tickets they were about 4 months apart.

 

the thing about tickets though... when its time to get them its time to get them. whether it be speeding.... or whatever.

 

You remember skyline last year? Cop pulled all of us for it. lol
