Exclamation Dyno Correction Formula

Formula to correct for failure to run to red line on NON-MREV+ Rev Up Motors.

Keep in mind this is a very unscientific formula to correct for the error of not running to red line. I came up with it by going through multiple dyno results posted on this forum.

This will help you figure out what your horsepower should have been. This only works for rev up engines without the Mrev+.

Maximum Torque x 1.18 = Adjusted horsepower

So, for Nismoto who dyno’d 213.85 ft lbs of torque, your horsepower should be 252.34

Go ahead and try it out on Dyno's posted on this board. It's pretty accurate.

I'm happy with that, I'll gladly accept 252rwhp

Check out these results.

The first is from a G-Tech. As much as people flame this thing, it is pretty accurate (when done correctly!!!!). Take the numbers for what they are and look at the graph. The curves are the same as a real dyno.

All runs are in second gear on a flat surface.

Comparison Run 1 = Good example of the computer waking up and turning on the power.

Comparison Run 2 = 10 minutes later with the addition of 12 gallons of gas Check out the torque curves of the main run and comparison run 2 (both after the computer knew I meant business) they are identical. This shows the importance of doing a couple full throttle runs just before the dyno.

The second is from the mustang dyno at Curry's Automotive in Dulles.

The more I look at my dyno... the more questins I have. Like.. .the temp is right but the humidity on Saturday was something north of 80% and the sheet says 28%. So I'm thinking that wasn't compensated for correctly either... *sigh*

Humidity was somewhere between 48%-54% and 85 degrees.... It bothered me enough to actually look it up Weather.com for June 02, 2007 Gaithersburg, MD
