it said "well over 300", and i'm sure it will produce a lot more torque than any V6 could

I think it's an awesome move on Hyundai's part.
Its exactly what they needed in their lineup.

It'll definitely be priced well below its competitors (G37, 335) and should be a good way to enter the market.

well said man. I have had my eye on what hyundai was gonna do with the tiburon and now this. I dont know what they will call it, but it's a great move. Whats next for Hyundai, a sport division? Hugen? Hismo? HMG? an H series?
j/k. If they really make this sporty enough, that would be awesome. The tiburon has a real lifeless transmission and motor to match. Clutch is very soft and mushy. Its great to see them enter this market though! I hope the car surprises me.

I think depending on the level of success of this car, they might launch a sport division.

I had a 2004 tiburon
Granted, it wasn't the best sports coupe but it wasnt expensive either.

does the rear 1/4 panel look just like the g coupe to anybody else other than me? I'm sure the hyundai loyals are going to be all over it. Just not my cup of tea.

hyundai has been movin up the last few years. the v8 will have more torque than a v6. so hp numbers are only relative.

It would be nice if the final version turned out more like the rendering. I know its not the practical thing to have a coupe as a second car, but I could care less heh. I'd hit it.

Given their expressed desire to enter F1, a sport division would make sense:

"Hyundai are planning to enter Formula One in 2010, for the inaugural South Korean Grand Prix."
