In-dash nav systems do damage to resale value?
In-dash nav systems do damage to resale value?
i find this to be very shocking, always thought the opposite

i don't understand how they can say absolutly that it drops the price by 1%. wouldn't the margin of error be much more than that statistically?
edit: however, i would have to agree that some factory nav systems are not worth what the dealers charge. i just had a conversation about an aftermarket nav system that my sister wants for her birthday (for an 05 honda accord). she regretted the fact that she didn't get one when she got the car. i asked her how much a factory unit was and almost fell out of my chair when she told me they wanted an additional $5k for it. i would think she would not be able to recoup that amount when she goes to sell her car if she had gone that route.

$5k
Talk about dealer mark-up. I have never seen a oem navi for more than ~$2k on any mid-price car (like honda).
