Question Stuck at work now with ice on road.

OK guys I'm stuck at work now and I have summer tires on ( just recently put them on... I guess a little early). My drive is from Annandale VA all the way to Dulles airport area plus some good backroad driving after that. You think Ill be fine if I hit the road being super cautious ? or Just leave the car and take a cab home ?

but to answer your question you shouldn't drive it if there's anything slippery other than rain.

If you don't have all-season tires, take a cab, or catch a ride from a friend.
Performance summer tires + cold + snow + ice = your g in the shop.

Over here at Annadale there's bascially sleet coming down. Over at Loudoun County (my destination) there is heavy wintry mix. Check the weather also before you do cuz its bascially getting worse everywhere.

So basically even driving at 30mph max at 32 degree weather and wintry mix I could easily loose traction ?

Yes!
It doesn't matter what the speed is. 5mph.. turn corner... slippery.. oh ship!! curb.. sign.. DAMN!
Of course this is just my opinion, born from experience. You have to decide for yourself. Good luck and be safe getting home, no matter what you decide.

"5mph.. turn corner... slippery.. oh ship!! curb.. sign.. DAMN!" = I'm taking a cab home. Thanks for the advice.

Even if you have all-seasons you should still leave the G at work. Take my word for it! My G was in the shop for over a month cause I decided to drive it because it looked like it was only raining outside. 10 miles down the road, there was ice everywhere. BTW, my wife has my G today

I am really glad I waited to change my winters out for my summers... it was really tempting since the temps were reaching 70+. I think I will wait a couple more weeks before I switch to my summers.

I'm hoping this weekend would be a safe bet to switch to summer tires. I hope!
