haha ... maybe that was infiniti's thinking too ...

i think, the front reminds me of the old school infiniti's and the rear is totally ugly with the built in spoiler

looking closely at the spoiler, is it built in? I see the gap around it. Im wondering/thinking that it's actually an option. Maybe it'd grow on me, but right now, I don't like it.

^^actually althought they seemed more pleased w/ the G coupe vs the 335i the coupe did not beat the 335i in a straight line

"The question remains whether the G37 Sport will match the acceleration of the BMW 335i, which hits 60 mph in only 4.8 seconds and trounces the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds at almost 106 mph. Our seat-of-the-pants assessment says that the G37 isn't quite up to that task, due mostly to its torque deficit, fewer gears (the Bimmer has a six-speed automatic) and heavier estimated weight (3,682 pounds vs. 3,571 pounds)."

I dont think a winner was declared in the article.

Judging by the numbers im pretty sure 335i should have a faster 0-60 and possibly 1/4 mile times, but the G37's overall track performance should be superior if you can keep it revving fairly high. the top end of a 330hp car should always be a lot better than that of a 300hp car. this engine needs to be revved to make power. on the otherhand the 335i is probably the better daily driver with more forgiving and less bumpy suspension.

Well see, the sedan can already do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, sub 5 second 0-60 might be possible with a good launch with the coupe.

That article looked completely bias as most of these article are. Whoever host the event and spend the big bucks to treat these editor like a god for a few days usually get the better review. Seem like the whole article was based on "335i crapped out after a day of hard driving and g37 still running good" that's not a very good analysis, just because their test car happened to crapped out. Regardless, it's hard to beat FI in a straight line and i'm not too sure about in the twisties either. The editor claim that the g37 owns the 335i once it get to the twisties, that's just hard to believe since that's bimmer's strong point. I felt we needed closer to 350 to compete against the 335i. so far, i'm disapointed and glad i wasn't holding big hopes for the '08 coupe.

There are two pics out... one that shows the "integrated" like spoiler:

And another that shows the CHROME lip like from the 07 sedan:

Notice the position of the 3rd brake light in both. You can tell the first pic is like an add-on spoiler in place of chrome lip.
Both are UGHGLY. Slap on the 03-05 style spoiler and your talkin! (if it fits)

we all know the 300 rating on the 335i is underated as i think they pull 275 on the dyno. so since infiniti didn't adjust their numbers much on the 1st gen's numbers..at 330 and 15% would put it at around 280. Too close if you ask me. That's my beef, infiniti should of put more separation as bmw and lexus did when they brought out their new engine.

Good call on that. When I test drove the 335, its handling was excellent. I cant speak for the 37 of course, but I cant imagine it being a wonder beyond the 335. (maybe on par or slightly better (AT BEST))

im well aware of the 335 being underated considering that i was the one that posted the automobile mag dyno article here. just by natural behavior of NA engine vs turboed engine (where the powercurve is 100% controlled by the ECU) and the higher redline. the new VQ engine should have an decisive advantage in the high end. the 335 power curve tend to fall off as it approach its lower redline because the ECU purposely retard the boost in the upper range of the powerband.

G35 is known to be a good handler too, with significantly stiffer suspension, better brakes and limited slip differential (no LSD for 335 i think) + bigger tires. i think it should be a better handler. what makes the 335 and 3 series so great in general is BMW's ability to tune the suspension to be both relatively soft yet handle very well at the same time. No one seems to be able to reproduce that. I think the new G will be a better handler at the cost of being a lot worse for daily driving just like the current gen. Our suspension, at least the 2005+, are very stiff and you really feel it when you run over any bump.

well see, but for now based on the information given at the moment, I think the 335 is the overall better car, especially when you consider moddability.

I agree the concept looks nicer.They changed the lower part of the front bumper .It doesn't look like the concept.

After seeing these pics,i'm not impressed.This looks nothing like the prototype or concept at all.The interior on the concept is what got me.Maybe i will get a vette.Anyone want to start a Vette club next.lol

This ne g looks like the lexus sc430 on the front. The interior was the only thing that sold me onm this car now i am disapointed in the new look.
