want a built motor-- someone point me to the right direction

i melted my piston.....

anyways... i think its best to buy a built longblock/shortblock...
who should i go with?

I currently have turbonetics set up.. a vacume hose came off the wastegate and boosted the **** out of my block.. therefore, melted one piston and have oil seeping in. (should have had an electronic boost controler)
it would be nice to boost up to 14psi.. maybe 550hp...
but someone PLEASE point me out the the right direction?
I don't have the knowledge to install a short block because of the timing chains..
But price range for me is around 7k

Z1 comes as a long block ready to install $6000
SFR only has shortblocks but have the option to be sleeved around $6500
SGP racing has a 3 year warranty! HKS head gaskets, rods and piston
I havent heard much from built z motors yet.. waiting for a price

thanks !

Out of those options go with the pauter rods.

Also, if you want to max out the turbonetics, you will probably get around 450whp max... Us turbonetics owners are doomed until stage II... lol

Also, call AAM.
They have engine packages and also provide warrenty for extra cost I think.
www.alteredatmosphere.com -they are in gaithersburg, MD and they might cut you a deal

Ask for Mike, tell him Soohan sent you!

Of the 3 in the poll, Todd at builtzmotors is the better choice.

I plan to do the engine swap myself with a mechanic friend. Im more swayed by the warranty that comes with the engine.
Z1 motorsports only does the warranty if they install it themselves; and it seems like SGP racing is the only one that offers a warranty if i install myself.
over all... im looking for a straight "swap" so that there won't be that long of a down time.

As for Altered, or local shops, i think that they will require me to pay extra labor in order to get the warranty....

seems like its the piece of mind that i really want.
